yo guyz, was reading good old PC GAMER (uk) last week and saw a link to a JK:JA mod, thought "hmmm should chek that out", man was that a good idea, found possibly the coolest mod ever, not quite realeased yet, but will be out within a month or so. It is basically maps, skins, sabers and vehicles, all wrapped up into a timelined mod of all the coolest duels and fight scenes from EP's I, II, IV, V and VI, including the Darth Maul v Obi fight, the Obi v Jango, Yoda v Dooku, Obi v Vader, Luke v Vader :: SPOILER:: "I am your father" scene, and also the Throne Room duel. If that isn't making u think "COOL!!!" then u are no star wars fan, and should be expelled from the academy... jus jokin, but u should be ashamed of urself at least.  simmilar where? mb2 - original maps and gameplay engine + models made by skilled people with permission. kotf - lots of maps and models created by other ppl and then thrown together into one pack without any permission. basically kotf offers nothing you couldnt download from any jedi knight files database unlike mb2. cant see any simmilarities there tbh _______________ playing jk3 since 30th of january (2005), member since 1st of february. im not a fan of tim, im not one of the people that donated or posts to defend him, what im defending here is the mod.
if he did steal the content then he's an asshole, but i haven't seen any prof of this stealing of content so if you can show me an email of someone who had their content used without there permission, even though you could easily forge an email, i will believe you. _______________ Peace is a lie, there is only passion. Actually, he admits on the credit page that almost every map, model and skin and several mod files were originally created by others and then revised by him. People have e-mailed the original authors of these files and found that they did not give him permission to use their creations in his mod. You forgot the part where the skinner/mappers had their content stolen and used without their consent. |

the 1,2gb rar includes: 1. trojans and viruses 2. 90% of that 1,2gb stuff is basejka files. 3. 10% - maps,npcs etc, everything you can get from any jk files site. in the end you get 3 levels ;D Quote: the content of part 1 has al the maps, skins and extras, the only thing they didn't put in for single player is all the levels there is only 2. yeah, because ALL of that content wasnt made by that guy. 5 years to make 2 or so levels is just completely gay. firstly there are no trojans or viruses, its just the gayness of pc's anti viruses software shows every second downloaded file as a virus, secondly their is no original JA content in the files you download, what happens is the installer for the mod copies the JA files so if you want you can play the classic JA without totally rearranging the base folders and other apps that come with the mod, thirdly ive searched the JK3 files site for almost all the characters in the mod and couldn't find one that is the same as the ones from the mod, and lastly if this guy didn't make some of the content in this mod, which i doubt very much, then this is still worth downloading because it would have taken ages to download the content, add it into an easy to use menu system and then get all the extras added aswell. and even if the game has only three levels (not two) the rest will be resealed in two months which i can wait for wile entertaining myself with the NPC add/load system and maps.

i tried converting it to mac a while back, by dragging the base folders over from parallels, but it didn't work because the .exe files need to come with it and those wont work with a mac

their is only one bad thing about this mod and that is i cant play it on my Mac , so i have to use Parallels or VMware and it lags really baddly  , at least i can play it though. _______________ Peace is a lie, there is only passion. you can make your own servers in multiplayer but the official servers will probably be out with the second part

The mod is quite good but I can't find any multiplayer servers. I think they haven't finished it yet since there aren't any official servers. _______________ May the force be with you. And may the academy stand forever! |

i have the mod, its pretty good compared to allot of others.
the content of part 1 has al the maps, skins and extras, the only thing they didn't put in for single player is all the levels there is only 2. when part 2 is release though it should have all the levels from the starwars saga and heaps more added to multiplayer. the mods are still very good if you want to explore maps and add your own NPC's for single player or if you can find more people to play with you could start a very fun multiplayer on one of the maps (there are heaps of them). overall its not a bad mod, download it if you have the time, and it should get alot better when part 2 is realesed. _______________ Peace is a lie, there is only passion. From what I heard, there is very little content in what they released. I have not bothered to download it because I am afraid of there being trojans in it. |
