G-P - welcome to JA. It is ususual to find a master by posting on the forum. Best to get on the servers, get to know people, practice, take some classes, and do what MoS says: ask the more experienced for help. You'll find most are more than willing to lend a hand. I had to learn mostly on my own and I did just fine.
Don't feel bad if you don't get a master right away, it just means you'll have to figure some more things out by yourself and won't get a cool tag to prace around in
