Ok, well with me being new and all, I'm sure I'm oblivious to a lot of things that may be going on, but I still feel I have a right to say some of the things I'm about to say from what I've observed. Before I do that just to clear up, although I doubt anyone believes this, I am not saying any of these things to suck to the JAK+. That'd be pretty stupid and get me no where. Anywho here goes. First off, rules aren't made so you won't have fun, it's so you'll have fun. If everyone was going around swearing/laming/saying racial slurs chances are a lot of people aren't going to have fun. If it's going to cause one person not to have fun, then why do it? Why take someone elses fun away so you can seek more enjoyment for yourself? Is it really worth it? Most people don't even have a problem with this, it's just those select few who get bored with what they're doing. If you get bored and the only way you can enjoy yourself, please leave for your own sake. I doubt this is going to change the world, but if one person reads it and it helps or imparts wisdom to them, than I consider this post accomplishing what I wanted. The second thing I'd like to address is people who call out everytime someone screws up and breaks a rule, or something minor that could be considered against the rules but possibly isn't. I see this CONSTANTLY, and it bothers me more than the person breaking the rules, at least in a lot of cases. I really believe correction is something you should do in a tell, not in the main chat, it is embarassing and in many cases can help to avoid controversy. And trust me, you're not going to impress a JK+ by picking out every infraction to the point he'll think "this guy really is unb3r, why isn't he JK+." At least by my logic it won't happen. This is for people who do it to jump on every single chance thay get, not for those whom are really trying to help others out. I'm sure that the JK+ appreciate oldbies helping keep order but when people go overboard that's what I'm talking about. I'm really sorry if this offends anyone, if it causes any trouble I will delete it. I can only hope that it can create a better place for truly the greatest community I've been able to take part in. I am always willing to admit I am wrong on these viewpoints if a valid arguement is presented, so please, speak up! Constructive criticism is good! Again, it's for the kind of people that look for others mistake, not those that are doing it so as to help the person and not to satisfy theirselves because the just experienced a false sense of authority. It's sad that people get entertainment from this, but let's be realistic some do. I wont necessary report you right away if you do one little thing, but I will be guranteed to bring it up, and probally wont bother with telling, as I have just recently learned to use such a thing. Alot people consider differents thing little things, but I have been corrected for simply atacking with a roll stab in a duel with my saber sheathed ( after we both bowed I ran up with my saber sheated and entered a roll stab ) and some of the new comers do not even bow, and lots the time I don't even bring it up (which in my opinion I should) If you consider quickly laming a singel person, or doing 'only' one thing that isnt really a big deal, well im not going to make a 'big deal' out of it but I am sure going to bring it out in the main chat, because I don't see why I should have to run around looking for your character to give you a private message ( yes there isa console command but with some names its a pain in a butt to do them) on what you did, when you don't even consider it a 'big deal' anyways (see the irony here, its not a big deal so you dont want it brought up in the main channel, but on the other hand the person has to put mroe work into it to make it seem like it is not a big deal, when really if its not a big deal, it should be calmy said out loud with no worries, ok maybe irony was the wrong word) Now it is not my job to go on a rant like this, but the rules you read to go on the server, if you break the rule and someone brings it up to you outloud, just say you are sorry. Be glad that the academy doesnt just ban for breaking rules ( Well they will if you go WAY too far and will not adjust according to how you are asked to stop ) Anyhow sorry for my rant, what I am trying to say is that it is basicly our responsability as a community to bring it up to someone every time they break a rule. At least a rule listed in the rules sections, there are other customs that may not be in the rule sections where people will be offended and may still bring it up, and don't be surprise if they do or give a "its not a big deal" or a whatever, well you can give a little bit of whatever I guess, just make sure to say sorry. Saying sorry acknowledges that you at least to some extent care and that you do not want to cause trouble. (For real life peopel may say sorry left and right, but on video games saying sorry actauly requires giving up some pride, to actauly let your self be in the position of saying you give a 2 cents worth, and actaully for real life sorry will always mean something, because you are still at least letting your self say sorry, and the fact alone that you care or not if the other person is upset.) Yah I agree, once we see more JAK+ things should change, but isn't that bad already. It's just those small percentage of problem people that raise the issue just far enough for it to be addressed. I think things like this need to be addressed. It's good that you explain it the way you do. It's just a general statement, not shooting anyone down. I think the JA will straighten out slowly but surely as the JAC appoint more JAK+.
