Yes, finally all the servers have the skinpack  First, be sure to thank: Gradius- Uploaded our files, helped with the selection process, and tested the skins. Setementor- Helped with the selection process and with extensive skin testing. Proximio- Contributed a Jaden expansion and some of the best JK2 default model sounds. Solitude- Forwarded death threats at the end and came up with a couple of ideas currently in the planning stages. Ozzcoz- Helped me with making a proper .gz file for faster unloading onto the WP server Nut- Working with us to finally get the skins onto WP (after a week lol). Virtue- Willing to help us with getting the skins onto the servers. Aron- Quickly getting the skinpack onto the other servers. Me- >_> The Jedi Academy- For your requests and suggestions. Hope I didnt leave anyone out. Now to how we made the Pack: 1. I compiled a simple excel chart for skin comparisons with certain important categories. I tested out the skins personally. I also took suggestions from those in IRC and sometimes on the servers, although I didnt get on that much b/c of all the work. 2. Gradius and Sete gave me suggestions on who to put on the chart, and then we started the selection process. 3. During the selection process, Solitude and Proximo gave some of their own suggestions. Proximo suggested putting a modified form of one of his projects, the Auroch Skin Pack, and later some of the old JK2 sounds. 4. I compiled the pack (well the prelim. version heh) I corrected the JK2 model sounds and kept 1 or 2 models from pk3s containing multiple skins. 5. Gradius, Setementor, and I tested the pack out. Setementor and I found some errors, oops. I found out I forgot two pk3s, oops. 6. I corrected these errors with some advice from Proximo. 7. Eventually, Gradius and I found out some of the skins had extra files in them which were taken care of promptly. (hilts- we need to test those separately) 8. I cleaned up the files again and sent the corrections to Gradius. Gradius made a readme through what Sete and I suggested. Proximo made an update to his expansion, got the color changes working. He also had to make some ugly pants for Gradius which led to him getting the color changes working. 9. Gradius uploaded the skinpack and Aron quickly got them onto Home and Classes. 10. Gradius, Virtue and I tried to make a .gz archive for WP. That file type would make unloading onto WP much quicker compared to individually uploading the skins one by one. 11. Ozzcoz offered me some help and a program to make a .gz archive file. 12. After trying to catch Nut and leaving him the link to the file that was uploaded by Gradius earlier, he finally noticed it seems and got it on WP The skinpack was finished around a week ago lol. It took a long time to get it on WP. The Pack: 1. Contains previous models with redundant models taken out. 2. We added a couple of new skins. 3. We found better versions of others. 4. We went along with requests for certain models as best as we could. Some ppl liked older models of skins, thats why some of them are still the same. 5. We couldnt get everyone's opinion on which model they wanted, it would just take too long. 6. I believe most of the JK2 models sounds work now. 7. We realized that not many ppl care about the older models having bugs (particularly with duals), so we did not eliminate a skin just for that. 8. Read the Readme for more info. We will consider making an addition with more recent models of certain skins and completely new ones later on. Please realize that a lot of work has gone into this skinpack and if you want a skin requested or want to complain about one that isn't there, be respectful about it. And here's the link for the NEW SKINPACK for those of you havent gotten it yet. Overwrite your previous skin pk3s. About the Corran Horn/Keiran Halcyon thing, the Corran skin has an unique model while the Keiran skin has a pretty plain model. We could do something about the display icon. So far, the NJO skins I've seen are not that great. I did look at Anakins, Jacens, Kyps, and Ganners, but they didnt seem to have all the details and such correct. Another concern about NJO skins is the popularity of the characters themselves. If you have found any good NJO skins, give them to us Hmm, changing file names would be a good thing to do, but you can also put the skins in your reloaded folder and they will work just fine (except for 1 skin for Chaos so far), according to Chaos, I just keep mine in base. Great Job guys especially the Jaden heads /me feels bad, that I'm glad i still have my skin when others have gone. Also if you think of updates can we change the corran horn skin the one looks a bit cartoony and ther is another nice one based on the cover of I Jedi called JK2KeiranHalcyon. Yea, Tigerclaws and Darthmikes arent there anymore, I kept Roans b/c he caught me while I was doing the skin requests. We tried to get as many requests as we could. I believe Tigerclaws is a separate skin. The alien with the very long neck and small head is Yarael and is in the pack (one model only, the regular Jedi robed). The reskins of Fisto are quite redundant. Redundant models fill up the character selection screen and eventually overfill it where the bottom models are not even shown. We didnt go for a cape, hooded (robed) Sidious b/c his robe is a bit glitchy. Robes/ capes in general are not that great b/c it takes a lot of minute detail to make them look decent. The Dooku cape is one the best I've seen and HapSlash takes his time. Also, the robed Sidious' face didnt look that great. We have reasons for almost everything  But, we'll consider everyones suggestions I didn't like that roll sound though, annoys me heh. i think this needs correction too. sidiouses roll sound is like... Nice skin pack!!!!!!! just one little thingy....the red version of a lady with dreads and facial painting (Chaos knows the name of it and has a screenie), the faceof that skin is transparent you only see the eyeballs and teeth....it's not very apalling...looks like my grannys fake teeth....ew |
