If there is one it would most likely be some council member tarp, worth a shot though :D great idea tido, I hope the JAM+ will read this :)

I'm sure they do, but I'm also pretty confident they have plenty of other things on their plate atm. JAStaff isn't exactly on the radar for them I imagine. Lol, someone make a JA Auxiliary group to sponsor events and encourage participation :P. J/k.

but the Council Members are so busy already, we can't just put such a trouble on them as well.

I think it is a great idea to get a sometimes stale feeling JA to be more active. In my opinion, "Events organizer" would be a great addtion as a JAStaff position, someone who is good with orginization and knows the JA well.. could help the JA have a lot of organized fun through both serious (1v1 saber fighting) and silly (wampa joust?) competitions! Might spur some interest and activity! Hopefully there should be no conflict in rank, the EO serves a specific purpose, therefore he/she will hold rank of JAStaff.. specific purpose people who do a certain job and hold no "offical" rank... IMO this idea should be concidered VERY hard because i think its a GREAT way to make the Academy More fun and More active. :alliance:

thief!!!! :P

The only reasons I mentioned this are:
1) JACs are busy enough and don't have time for this stuff usually.
2) JATs and JAKs already give a lot of time to the JA, organizing events puts a strain on them.
3) Having students do it is great in that you get student participation, but you also have issues with lack of experience and poor logistics.
4) It ensures that activities will happen more often in the JA because if that person does not keep up with their obligations, the JAC will find someone to replace them.

Problems:
1) It goes against the "Keep It Simple, Stupid" creed of the JAK+.
2) It would be a very busy and demanding job.
3) There may be 'rank' conflicts, which is sad, but people are people. I think if you just handle it the same way you handled people who worked on the Holocron you will be fine.
4) There is the very real possibility that the person might suck at their job :P. I had my shot at running a tourney and it was anything but smooth, lol.

It doesn't really sound like the JAC's style though. The arguement will be that organizing events is the job of the JAC and the JAK+, and that is correct. The students will say that the JAK+ don't provide as many events as they would like, and that is also correct. I like the idea of having an EO simply cause everyone will know he/she has that job and is expected to produce events. That kind of...pressure (for lack of a better word) to keep new events happening in the JA doesn't fall on any Knight, Trainer, or Council member.

just because two people have the same idea, doesn't mean that one has stolen it from the other ...

I think it's a great idea. But is it really necessary. I think that if you have some idea for the Jedi Academy, that you should work it out on a piece of paper, and if it's all do-able, that you just send a mail to the JAC's asking them what they think, and if it's approved, if you can run it, since it's your idea.
This way you can plan the events you're thinking of, without an official position within the Academy.

I actually wish 'Events Coordinator' was a staff position. Make it someone's job at the JA to ensure new events are happening and things never get stale.
