I listened to a song (or a story with a beat in the background) and these are the words it says. Please don't start any sort of flame war...I'm just posting it because I thought it was a great piece of writing All of mankind has been diagnosed with a condition, that the bible calls 'Sin'. It's not like cancer or leukemia, which can be traced through a scan. If anything, it's more like a psychological sickness and visible to the eye, but effects the way we act and even think. You see, 'Sin', is where we do things wrong...when we do things contrary to God's 'perfect' planet. Things like lying, cheating, stealing, or thinking you're better than everyone else. And 'Sin', even if it starts out small, always leads to death. It's kinda like "What goes up, must come down" or "Every action has a reaction". Well, for 'Sin', that reaction is death. So this sickness we've all been diagnosed with, is really more like a fatal disease. So what can we do about it? Is that it? Are we supposed to come to terms with our disease with no hope of any cure? Is there a doctor anywhere on the planet who can help us? Here's the answer: 2,000 years ago, a man named Jesus lived. This was a real, live human being. Skin and bones, guts and brains, everything. But there is something special about this one, and even though he was tempted in every way, he never sinned. The disease simply couldn't be found in him. In fact, he went around healing all sorts of people with sicknesses: The blind, the deaf, the demon possesed. He fed the poor, cared for the untouchables and even raised people from the dead. Everywhere he went, he told people about this massive party, called the 'Kingdom of God'. It's a community, a family, where everyone is loved and accepted and where everyone can learn to love and accept not just their friends, but even their enemies. And if Jesus' life and teachings weren't 'odd' enough, his death was even more strange. Even though he was the last person in the world to deserve it. Even though he was sentanced 'Not-Guilty' of any crime or wrong doing. Even though there was not a trace of this 'Sin' disease in him, he laid down his life at the hands of contaminated people, like you and me, and died on a cross. And when he died, he took it upon himself the responsibility of the punishment for all the wrong things the people around him were doing. He took upon himself the responsibility of the punishment for all the wrong things we, 2000 years later, are still doing. It was the ultimate cure for the ultimate disease. And now we can have the forgiveness of God. But it doesn't end there. You see, three days after he died, Jesus came back to life and appeared to hundreds of people. He overcame death and proved once and for all that he was who he said he was all along...The Son of God. The bible said in "John 3:16" 'God loved the world so much that he sent his one and only son so that whoever belives in him shouldn't die forever, but live forever.' And that's basically what it means to become a Christian. Just to admit that you're lost in Sin and let Jesus come into your life. Ask him to sort your head out and he will. If you take this seriously, then you too can be a part of this amazing thing called the 'Kingdom of God', where you can find love and acceptance and have your life completely changed...forever. _______________ - Even if Carlsberg made "w*nkers", Christiano Ronaldo would still be the biggest "w*nker" in the world This post was edited by CuZzA on Sep 24 2005 08:26pm. |

you dont need to measure gravity, its effects have been measured before. if you are in freefall (that is to say, the only force acting on you is gravity, read: neglect air resistance) you will acelerate at -9.8 m/(s^2) due to the pull of gravity. so, therefore you CAN see, and feel the effects of gravity. Hence the reason sir issac newton alledgedly had an apple fall on his head when he thought of the concept of gravity. ![]() _______________ It's a false hologram, it IS artificial... |

For some people the gap that may seem to be between a certain belief an scientific thought does not exist. There has been many scientists who went off believing a religion because of what their studies proved, of course all scientists only THINK. Plus also the thing that have be for sure determined and is no longer considered an official debate by anthropologists is that we all come from a common ancestor, which really does not disgaree or prove anything. Now I hav enot gone into full detail I may have had flaws in my paragraph, I am poor at communicating, but I do not care to go back on this forum and continue posting something that will accomplish nothing, so in case if your wondering if your a Christian, and if really are interested you can personally talk to me, but anyhow about the song... yeah what artist? can you have a link so we can stream it on the web bowser and hear it ( it might sound decent you know, like Friday's Cry (christian canadian band ) song called "Battle" I personally like my self. _______________ "Darkness is simply the absence of Light" "Is it not easier to snuff out the light completely than to make no shadow or darknes at all and create pure light?" Theories about God, spirits, reincarnation etc come from the natural sense that there is more to the world than we can taste or touch. Of course the problem with any theory like that is simple; it cannot be proved. But at the same time it cannot be disproved. Provided we aren't forcing our personal beliefs on others, a little insight from another point of view here and there is welcome IMHO. /random thought _______________ -Kauyon Draconis [Official master of Ataris] This comment was edited by Esta on Sep 25 2005 06:05pm. |
