What would you like to see?

Activity is waning in some or alot of areas.
This depends of course on whereabouts you live, your time zone etc.
But generally, people have been saying recently that whenever they come online, the Servers are pretty much empty.

So I ask you this:

What would you like to see around here that could help beef up activity in the JA?

Please be detailed, I don't expect you to have to write essays or anything, but please don't just post saying stuff like "We need more events!" or "We should have some scheduled fun sessions!"
Tell us exactly what it is you'd like to see here. Or things that you think would help boost activity on the servers.

So... Go! :D

Well this idea isnt really going to help with inactivity or having more fun, but here it is :)

Sometimes in life we all run into problems along the way, with friendsships, our parents... pretty much anything! And sometimes people dont have other people to listen to their problems, and give them advice, comfort and sympathy. I mean i know whenever I have a problem, i can always talk to Alex or Jaiko :)
but some people dont know them very well and may feel intimidated. SO what i propose is that here at the JA we have a team of 'buddys' that any member can go to for some advice or help or comfort. someone everyone will feel secure sharing any problems they might have with.

just a idea :P whatcha think?

Thats a nice idea man, i think Jaiko takes the time to answer many JA members questions and tries to be around for a chat, and i'm always around for people who want to talk as well, as Mini knows :)

My questions to you guys is: Would you be interested in such a class? Would you connect to an empty server to do the exercises at all? Maybe, if you join in in classes, you can find exercises there and train at those, which would make this class obsolete, or do you like the idea of 'training yourself' while doing some exercises?

I too join an empty server and do a bit of "Training" while I'm waiting for others to see me and join. Unlike Dash, I NEED to train :P

I've learned some exercises over my time at the JA. Jaina D'Kana gave me my first few exercises to do (for which she has my eternal gtatitude). Virtue used mines in class, which gave me more exercises to do. I've used them all in my training sessions, and showed some to others (hope that's okay Virtue?). So yes Dash, I think a class that teaches people exercises is a really good idea.

Your sounding like a true killwhore. CTF is about teamscore, not individual kills. If doing /kill helps your team, than do so.

It's called tactic, those 2 seconds might be enough to prevent a flag cap for the enemy team.

Change the insta server to a basejka CTF server, also dont make it pure.

That server has been changed into everything in history so far. CTF, insta, siege..etc. And it always remains as empty as now.

Well thats because it used to be JAR CTF which in my humble opinion, JAR wasnt exactly great for ctf. Disabling the self kill tactic and such ruins the game. It a was never a basejka ctf server and it was never unpure. I know if it was base jka I would be jumping every oppertunity I got to get other people to join with me, I'd even idle there until people connect. :)

True, no /kill is no fun CTF match.

Like yourself, instead of plain idling, i usually like to do a couple of exercises whilst waiting for others to join the server. I wouldnt really go onto an empty server JUST because i want to do exercises, but in the case of an empty server and a sudden will to duel, i would join in order to lurk people and might do a few exercises whilst waiting.

I was a big fan of HW's pit-duel tourney class back when he used to teach. Maybe we could schedule a small tourney each 2-3 weeks, each time varying between gamemodes or fun-events like jade's "cage of death" thingy.

I think I could be persuaded to do a weekly thing along those lines. :)
That would be aweedasdfstastic! Also, i agree that smily's tag-team class was rather popular as well.

Apart from having more events which would be great, some people like to hop online just for some duels and training. Im one of those guys tbh, all I do usually is train and see if I can improve. I dont play to prepare for Tourneys or any other official events, so there isn't really any point in training myself; apart from the fact I train for the sake of training.

The problem is there's usually nobody online to train/duel with. However, I noticed, apart from lots of other people, that if you idle around at the servers, more people will connect within a time span of 5 minutes usually.

The trouble with idling is, that it may get boring. You're just there and nothing more. Personally, I usually go and train myself in various disciplines. I go off to the Pit to work on my Advancing Scissor, work on my Strafejumping or I go off to the fort and use Trip Mines for various exercises which are often found in classes as well btw.
Those are small exercises you can do just to kill time. You'll need to do them anyway, since skills need constant upkeeping.

Okay, so, here's my idea. Im thinking of setting up a new class, which will teach you exercises you can do to improve yourself. These may/will include movement exercises as well as sabering skills and possibly even Force. When nobody's about, you will then be able to hop online on your own and train yourself untill someone arrives. Im also thinking about making the class not just for Medium Stance, about the only stance I can control to a certain point, but also for other stances and weapons. With that said I'll need some help from other JAK+ to either teach me some exercises or maybe assist/take over the class on occasion, when I run out of knowledge.

My questions to you guys is: Would you be interested in such a class? Would you connect to an empty server to do the exercises at all? Maybe, if you join in in classes, you can find exercises there and train at those, which would make this class obsolete, or do you like the idea of 'training yourself' while doing some exercises?
