Because normally, the classes page will only display classes happening within the next week. That class is on the 13th of May, meaning there is a lot more than a 7-day wait until it starts. In fact, there are about 2 weeks yet. |

*does a slight cha-cha dance* Alright my friends, scheduling and finals for R2 and myself are pretty conflicting as of the moment. We want to make this work the best for you guys and give all of the best chance of making a 4 week string in a row. Therefore, we've moved the class to Saturday May 13th and we will start over with week 1. The couple of classes we were able to do gave a good indication that you guys ARE interested in a class like this and want to learn some Dual Saber Action. ah  . This class will keep on going when Janus or I are present, so if you miss a couple, you can get a review session with either one of us or simply continue on with the course, retake it again, and nail the final  BTW, I'm a member of Auburn University's Student Space Program. We are going to launch our high altitude balloon (reaches about 100k ft) next week. This week on Saturday is the practice launch. At first, I thought launching a balloon was no big deal, but setting up the communications equipment such as radios, GPS's, and ground stations to track it is quite complicated and fun. We've worked on a Timer and a DTMF (Dual Tone Multi Frequency) board for "cutting down" the balloon. During previous launches, when the balloon reached its burst height, the balloon would get tangled with our parachute deployment, so we've developed a cut-down board (piece of nichrome wire that will burn through a rope, resulting in a chain reaction eventually leading to the release of the balloon) to solve this problem. We have two methods of activating the cut-down: A Timer (we set the time at which the balloon is about to reach burst height) and a DTMF board (send two tones, sort of like tones on a phone, and the balloon's radio will receive them and activate the cut-down board). Hey Everyone! R2 and I were very pleased with the turnout this past Saturday. I wanted to make a commitment to making sure we were there for you guys 4 weeks straight in a row to get a feel for how the class should go, but unfortunately some RL things have come for Saturday, and R2 will not be present. I will do my best to come in his stead, but I to have events going on and it'll be cutting it close. For technical week 3, we are faced with the same issue with R2, but it looks like I'll be there no problem to continue on with the lessons if need be.
