Just watched a movie ? let us know what you just watched with a simple watch, Avoid or if your bored next to it.

Lets face it people dont have the same taste in movies but its pretty simple to work out if you wanna watch it, the Watch or avoid is just a guideline to that genre, so if you like the genre then you will like the movie more than likely.

i'll start

today i watched

Finders Fee - Mystery Indie movie - Watch for sure

Red Eye - Thriller - Only if your bored ( though cillian murphy is creepy :D )

carry it on :D

Blood Diamond: was a strong movie, kept me intrested to the end.

Crank: was fun movie with some great actions (love the hospital Scene)

The Departed:2 confuzing, the 2 actors were to much lookin like eachother.

Letters From IwoJima: Strong war movie, a view of the war from the perspective of the Jappanese.

300: Cool movie, but it just misses something imo.

Haven't updated in a while....so

Crank - Intence, some laughts, not likely to fall asleep infront of. It was so so.

Ghostrider - An alright movie. Something I would deem "standard" 1,5 hours of entertainment. Nothing more.

Departed - Loved it. Granted that Goodfellas is the better of the two. But irish mafia? Who could resist?

- HW

departed is a remake of internal affairs so you cant really compare it to GoodFellas, they are both very good movies

Seen 300 a couple times, tis not bad.

Reccomends; Bubba Ho-Tep, if one likes the Bruce Campbell movies, Evil Dead 1-3, and other works, this is definately a movie to check out.

300

Reposted from the 300 thread.

Watched this earlier today. Fantastic film, up there with Gladiator - although it tells the story in quite a different way in places. Incredibly artistic style that works very well and is most pleasing to watch. The music works brilliantly to offset the action scenes and the ending is not entirely predictable.

I was much more impressed than i thought i would be, oh and Butlers performance as Leonidis is great, very powerful, yet not all shouty shouty.

Only down side was my (female) friends kept giggling at the sight of all the semi-naked men.

4/5

Volver

Pedro Almoldovar does it again. Truly an exceptional film set in Spain in La Mancha and Madrid. It stars Penelope Cruz in the best performance i've ever personally seen her give. I was easily blown away, great film.

Oh and i watched Amelie again. <3 that film. :)

Dead Man's Shoes.

Not your general, run-of-the-mill revenge thriller, this is a lot darker and can take you off guard - particularly with the fact that its set in rural Derbyshire.

Nice ending too, quite unexpected.

Just watched The Constant Gardner. A really well made film about the Aid effort in Africa and much more. The characters are very well presented and very human, this is probably in part down to John Le Carrè's skill as a writer, as it is based upon that authors book.

A really interesting, and high quality film, if a bit slow moving in places. A great watch for anyone that dosn't mind their action/drama/thriller not having an abundance of car chases and shooting etc.

I've only been watching DVD's lately. The most recent was Starship Troopers.

Two other films that I highly recommend are Japanese:
Onmyoji and Onmyoji 2. These are set in the Heiian period, "when magic and darkness prevailed".

Amelie (oldie) is an okay movie. I can say that it's VERY artistic. I was getting pretty bored in the middle, especially after such a humorous introduction. Amelie's also pretty infectious, from how she handles situations and the silly little expressions she makes. So watch this movie if you're interested in boggling at her face. I'd say that a simple plot was stretched out an hour or so longer than it had to have been, but, meh. I was expecting there to be a twist at the end, which there sort of was, though it left a bit to be desired.

Amelie is an amazing film, a masterpiece. I love world cinema, and artistic films though so i would say that. :P
