Is the JK:JA truly dead now?

 I remember a couple years ago, during the summer even during the day servs would be packed.
Nowadays one can spend hours on the serv..and you can hear the sound of a needle hitting the floor.
No saber clashes. no chat-text-popup noice, nothing..
Mesa thinks not even the release of Virtue's new map would awaken it.
What do you think.....is the only servs alive the lame-infested Pub servs, or Clan servs..
Oh well, was fun while it lasted..:(

I feel like it's the other way around. There's plenty of activity 'out there' like Masta described. But on the Academy servers - yeah it's pretty dead. It's just not enjoyable to play on them :(.

By JA Community, I believe he meant the forums, IRC (that is getting a little more active), and friendships we have created with each other. Classes are usually packed.

Well me & Jaiko are certainly planning on becoming active again! Hopefully see people on the servers soon then, be they old, older, or even new.

Anyway i'm sure its not too bad, i see 'new members' popping up all the time! Certainly the community won't be what it was a year or two ago, even JK3 is several years old now, let alone JK2! Judging by activity though i would say the JA itself will be here for a long time yet, as even if the academy itself restricts itself to one series its members don't. Anyway i guess i agree with what Eica and Masta said among others.

On a personal note, sorry to those people who have left comments on my profile asking when i would get my but in gear and get on the servers again, the delay has been too long :)

I don't think the JA is dead... just yet. But it's on life support.

It's not just about how many people there are on the servers from where I see it. The whole atmosphere of the JA is different from how it was a year ago. When I first joined, every trip to the servers felt like an adventure. There were always interesting new classes. Newsposts were frequent and helped us all keep track of events at the JA.

I'd like to disagree with Majno and others. The game certainly isn't dead, it's just this place really isn't as fun as it once was.

Seriously though. If the busiest time on the servers is going to be 4 or 5 people on after class, then something is wrong.

Most public servers if not all of them are full of lamers which is quite bad. I find the JA servers a lot better, too bad there are rarely anyone on.

Try to connect after a class, people tend to stay there a little after.

The ESL stands for European Sports League and doesnt implicate socialising on public FFA servers. Its more of a system of ladders inwhich people compete against eachother.

The game isnt dead and probably wont die anytime soon. I mean, even jk2 which is way way older, is still beeing played on a regular basis. Theres still a few pubs out there that attract players daily, and anyone who would start up jk2 would find a server with people on. You cant really consider such a game "dead" imo...

I'd actually consider jk3 to be a very active game, especially euro-wise. Granted, its way less active then it was 1-2 years ago, but its still rather "alive" so to speak. The ESL is still organizing huge events like the nations-cup or several 1on1 cups which get usually filled within days. Actually, jk3 qualified itself as a potential community game for the ESL Pro Series and currently holds #4 right above q4 and below UT2004. And believe it or not, just 2 weeks ago the jk3 ladders registered 300 played matches in one week! Quite a lot for a dead game imo =P

If I'm alive I will not allow the game to 'die'. If no one gets on the servers anymore, then I will just boost my activity, it's not dead. And it won't be, at least while I'm here.

Dude, of course I'm talking about the JK:JA game..not this community, which I'll bet will still be around after there are no Starwars games left..since its not all about the SW games.;):)
Indeed ppl get older and get jobs..allthough.seems a bit strange..you would think ppl would have more free time when working, and not in school, getting homework etc..afterall how often do you get homework from work..if you'e not a teacher or summin..

Dude. Do I look dead to you? I haven't been playing JK3 for 2 years now...nearly 3. And I'm still here. So are many people.

You have to remember though, 2 or 3 years ago people were only kids. Now they're gettin older and they have jobs. Remember that ;)
