Screen refresh rate

Well, reinstalled jka a while ago. When I played it before, I didn't really know anything about refreshrate and such things, but now I've gotten used to 85Hz. Is there any way to change the refreshrate in the game to 85Hz or something (75 would be enough, it's just 60 that hurts my eyes). As it is now, I put 85Hz in windows, start the game, and it will automatically turn it down to 60. It will stay that way when I quit the game too, which is even more annoying. I tried to change it through console (can't remember the command now it seems) but no effect.

Ah, that was the command I were referring too, but couldn't remember. Still, that wouldn't work for me for some reason.

If you have an ATI video card, the ATI driver may be forcing this. Open up the Catalyst Control Center and poke around a bit.

Sorry for not being more specific, but it's been a while since I used Windows. ;)

Depending on your video card, it is possible to force a specific refresh rate for all applications in the driver settings. If your video card doesnt support this setting, you can force refresh rates with third-party programs like RefreshLock.
Enabling VSync generally doesnt affect your refresh rate =x

Video sync will only make the fps the same value as your refresh rate. So, if my refresh rate is set to 60, my fps will be 60. Atleast that what I've been told v-sync is.

Find Setup and click to Video > Video Sync. Make it the opposite of what it currently is. Does that help?
