Before coming here, I signed-up with a clan so I could learn about the game. Before I actually participated, I found the JA, so I jumped ship. I have never "strayed" from the Academy because I think it embraces the ideals of the Jedi, without taking itself too seriously. I have seen others here with clan prefixes in their names, or I at least assume that's what they are. I have been wondering what percentage of members here belong to clans, and which entity clan members consider themself more loyal to (like, if they had to choose). I suppose the JA is an entity to itself, and it carries a different weight than a clan might per se; as it is somewhat neutral. What do you think? -Ian _______________ Member #7625 | Since 7.6.04 The Archives This post was edited by Ian Jandos on Aug 01 2006 10:30pm. |

Do you belong to a clan outside of your involvement at the JA?

I have always liked the relaxed atmosphere here at the JA. I have often thought of joining a clan for the Team activities but never got around to it. _______________ *Bro to Vaxxla,Padawan of FiZZandOdan-Wei Part of the mighty Belouve Dynasty-Knight of Nippledom.Twin of Selphestal!**Proud Master to Kaelis and Acura Friend to anyone who would call me the same . I first found the JA a few days before I got JK3 and I've only really been in 1 clan which was run by an old JA member (dont think he comes here anymore) - Walid/WaX. Tbh, I prefer people not to wear tags on JA servers cause as Ian said it's a neutral ground but I guess it doesn't change anything So...yeah, been in 1 clan which just disappeared and only part of the JA now. |

When I started playing JK2, it was online straight away. I thought single player sucked then...still does in my opinion, but that's besides the point I joined a clan the first day I got the game because of RdBeSt/Optime/Sasuke. He got me in. The clan's name was The Psycho Saberistz (TpS). The clan was a very large and famous clan due to it's activities inside and outside the clan (wars with other clans/members switching with rival clans etc.). I was never a member during these times as the clan had been established during the Dark Forces 2 days. We were part of the MSN Gaming Zone and were very strong until the end of 2003/beginning of 2004. The clan jus collapse. The site was still up, the forums were poorly active and it just went from there really. We had monthly tournaments but nobody showed up for them in the end. Was a bad end to a good clan. I've joined various other clans but left them quickly because I found them boring :p I never joined a clan whilst playing JK3, except for TpS. Unfortunatly, we thought that JK3 would re-inspire the clan members to become more active, but it didn't happen. So in my mind, The JA > Clans </rant> _______________ - Even if Carlsberg made "w*nkers", Christiano Ronaldo would still be the biggest "w*nker" in the world |

3 Clans, then the academy. Amazingly enough, the first clan I left is still going strong, the other two have since disbanded/disappeared entirely. Good thread though, btw. _______________ -Kauyon Draconis [Official master of Ataris] This comment was edited by Esta on Aug 04 2006 09:12am. |

I got bored with the ja, cuz like there was no big thing were every day something huge happens, so I strayed, but stayed somewhat, still viewing some stuff, and I first found Council Clan, then I found my current clan MOO. So I am part of a big family, and a small clan w/ big thing happening. |

I get my TFFA itch scratched in the Aurochs, so there is no need for me to join a clan. Even if I wasn't an Aurochs, I still would probably be clanless as I can't think of any clans I really associate with. |

When I started playing this game (online that is), I quickly found my way to this place. I learned the basics here, but after that I needed more competitive play, and I ended up joining a clan. I still frequent the JA and enjoy playing there tho. |
