I was just doing some work on v3... and those of you who know me really well will also know that I get really silly ideas from time to time. But some of those ideas turn out to be awesome, with a little effort. Lol Anyways, I was mapping a part of v3 and I sort of built a part of the map in a really cool way that I was pretty happy with... but then I realised that as awesome as the area looked, it didn't fit in with how the rest of the map looked. So I started crying.  Then I thought... Wouldn't it be awesome if we had like... a few different "Official" JA maps? All based on different planets. Then each JA Server would be named after that planet, so instead of "JK3 Home", we'd simply have "JA - Dantooine", "JA - Yavin IV" etc. The different maps could also have different specialities and such, so if you wanted to duel, you'd go to Yavin, if you wanted to use the Force, you'd go to Dantooine, if you wanted to use guns, you'd go to Corellia etc. The individual maps wouldn't be as big as v3 (which I will still build anyways), but they'd definatly serve their specific purpose. So depending on what mood you were in and what you felt like doing, you could visit different Star Wars planets, all of which have a "Jedi Academy" on them.  The only problem I can see with it right now is US Vs Euro. So maybe each Academy complex should have at least one Dueling room, so that you can have a proper duel, no matter what planet you're on. Ossus FTW! But yeah planets that are actually relevant would make sense. Could have a Sith planet if there was call for it though? Anyway, I think the problems with too many servers causing too little people to be on could be solved simply with a little communication between members. I didn't care to read any of the comments below so sorry if I'm saying something someone already said.
In my opinion there are good and bad things in this, I'll start with the positive: -We would have the use of different types of maps for different purposes; TFFA, Siege, etcetc -It would probably be a boost to the activity in the JA -People would have a choice but I think if the maps are all good the choice would still come down to the almighty lag The negative things I see in this idea: -First off, it would take gazillions of years to finish 'em -If one map would prove to be overlypopular the others would be of no use -In my opinion v3 is our home now, we just moved to this wonderful place. Why split up the family now? I wouldn't want to always drive to uncle Dane's apartment just to say hi, when he could perfectly well live in the attic where he belongs.

Sounds like a cool idea. Though, as many has pointed out, I would not like to go to the home servers and 180 ping to get some duels because the euro server is running a movement training map all the time. There has to be at least some basic duel areas in each map I think. And I'm more fond of the idea of a rotation of all maps on each server, rather than having a certain map on a certain server. But with a good solution this could be uber cool |

Well if you wanted to keep things realistic star wars timeline wise (i know this has come up in the past when discussing moving from Yavin), then you may want to consider the planets known to have Jedi Temples/Enclaves at some point since ROTJ. They are: -Yavin IV -Coruscant -Corellia -Ossus -An asteroid called 'Eclipse' -The Maw -Possibly others that have not been mentioned. there is also: -Dathomir (Force Witches!) -Erm wherever the Fallanassi are! Of course there is no need to follow those kind of guidlines, and would be just as cool to play on a map based on Dantooine or anywhere. This is an inspired idea. It will add diversity and up interest for trying different servers. In fact similar ideas have been stated before i believe although usually in relation to moving the map itself from Yavin, usually these ideas are met with a lot of resistance in my experience, but i suppose this is different because we are not actually talking of leaving Yavin entirely. Also as a European frequenter of WP, i will say now i have no problem with Yavin being only on Home, it would make sense as Jade says, and it would be cool for WP to get its own little planet/outpost (presuming that is what you are suggesting). I like the Idea of diferent maps on each server, although I think V3 should be on JK3 Home. So you'd have Jedi Academy Home (V3) on Yavin IV then Jedi Outpost's on the other servers, something like this: JA-Yavin IV, JO-Dantooine, JO-Kashyyyk, etc... _______________ *CLICKEH->Never risk the Fett Man|*Download my Saber here.
