As most of you know (or who know who I am), I'm pretty much a silent partner in the JA at this point, but that doesn't mean I don't care. So here's what I'm wondering... in the absence of a new Jedi Knight game (c'mon Lucasarts, hook us up!), what can we do to keep the JA alive and thriving? Do we expand into other games? Do we simply exist the way were are as a "family" and accept that the training part is diminished as the game fade away a bit (let's be honest, it's been over 3 years since JK:JA came out)? Let me know what you think and how we can keep this place alive and keep the awesomeness that's been around for almost 4 years going well into the future. _______________ -Academy Leader/Dictator/Defeater of DJ Sith and JACen Solo in the JAK+ Tournament -I do think it (the JA) will help convert dozens, maybe hundreds, to the dork nation... --me |

While i think pop idol and the other various singing reality shows are rediculous, stupid, and incredibly bad; i think a JA Idol would be hilarious and i endorse it 100%

To go with my previous comment; all the maps should be accompanied by an event. For example, Valentine's- King and Queen-, Halloween -Best original costume (Skin or model)-, Christmas -Snow Ball Fight Tournament (using the pistol), etc.
Even stuff like everyone has to have a green saber on St. Patricks day (or else!!!) can give some variety. What about The JA Idol. People submit clips of them singing and we will vote to see who is the JA's best singer. I think the JA also needs a movie trailer. It could be an opportunity for the many many talented people that we have here to show off their skills with the camera. Get some shots of the academy, some battle scenes, etc., and explain what the JA is all about in movie trailer form. When somebody visits the website for the first time, he/she could watch the trailer and get a better understanding of who we are and what we do. Hopefully, it'll be more of an incentive to join. |

Maybe we could have our own team of mappers. Their job would be to come up with a small, fun, crazy map like every month or two. You could put them up on the servers for a couple of hours a day, or two days a week or w/e. I would definately like to see some themed maps (valentine's day map, christmas map, st. patrick's day map, halloween, etc...). They dont have to be big or extremely detailed, just entertaining and fun to look at.
You could also try sending an email to all of the inactive (or not so active) users. I know theres a lot of people that may have just forgotten to check out the website in a long time. A lil reminder that the JA is still here wouldn't hurt. Maybe throw in some recent headlines or something to get them interested in reading more/going to the website. Im pretty sure some of the older members dont stop by anymore because they dont really know any of the newer members. Seeing some familiar faces would definately encourage them to stop by more often. Events are always fun. (JA Olympics, Prom...) Staff involvement is a must. Nothing attracts more users to a server than seeing (JAC)-(JAT)-(JAK) tags pop up on their All-seeing eye / Qtraker. Is there a JK3 Hydroball Mod? i can't remember. If there is, is it good?? EDIT: Some more Advanced level classes would be nice. I'm not to familiar with instagib myself. I would love to see more TFF. I just love a good battle with teammates. I know, I know, that's what CTF is for. I'm just a saber lover really. Those guns get me into trouble. In the end I would just love to see people on during my times. EST evening is so lonely. Great suggestions by everyone here. Hmm, I'm not entirely sure how this would help increase activity. I'm not really saying it would, i suppose this could go with the JKII even week idea, i just think having a broader range of staff (such as Kael's new job as Virtue's assistant lol) might make things more interesting for some people with particular specialities, especially if the general consensus is that JK:JA isn't popular enough anymore. Perhaps, but I can't really think of anything to do that is along those lines. This mainly falls in with the whole competition idea, i was thinking along the lines of the D'Kana riddle gauntlet, the short story competition etc. Events that do not involve playing a computer game at all, but which members can take part in from the forums or something. Oh and i'd love a chance to try instagib.
