Just watched the finale. I enjoyed it, it was a good end to the second volume (and start to volume three) even if in places it felt slightly rushed due to the strike.
Peter: His arc was well handled, with the only exception being I would have possibly liked to see some kind of closure where Kaitlyn was concerned. What with the main Virus plot being over now (seemingly). It was awesome seeing him taking down the guards/Matt/Hiro and showing his potential, and his naivety didn't seem contrived, nor did his eventual decision to trust Nathan. Peter Vs Hiro: This was one of the best anticipated fights i've seen in Heroes, often they prove just a little underwhelming because of too much build up (Peter vs Sylar!!11) but they both came off quite well, in fact they did a good job of proving how dangerous Peter is without making the other heroes seem redundant. He can beat Hiro and Matt but not without some difficulty. Adam: Such a good character. I just can't see him as evil? He's a 'bad guy' but a grey one dispite his horrific intentions. Weird as it seems he only wanted to save the world, he was just so deluded that he felt it was time for another flood. I really hope he returns, and the way Hiro dealt with him (while rushed through) leaves just that possibility. Whats great is that there is no reason that in the future he won't be working for the 'good guys' all depends on motive. Angela Petrelli: So did she order his death? Or did she just let it happen... She certainly has a lot of questions to answer, and in the next volume i'm expecting some to be. Right now she certainly fits the role of a 'villain'. We still don't know her power come to that. The Bennets and the Bishops: Good to see Claire developing a true backbone despite all this stuff going on around her... but did she really have to push away possibly the one character he has always been pretty much straight with her? Something fishy about Noah, and I can't shake the idea he shot Nathan. However it could just be the reason given: He will do whatever neccesary to keep his family safe. Mr Muggles is still awesome. I wonder what his power is? I'm waiting for a Peter Pettigrew style reveal where he is a shapeshifting hero. Bob is alive! A surpise in my books, but a welcome one, he is a good villain. Still I feel he may be living on borrowed time, lots of things are springing out of the companys control. Well Elle has joined the list of characters who have grown on me with time, a bit like West. She was excellent in this episode, she's still obnoxious, but it really fits now and the bit where she saved the day just worked. I hope she becomes a Hero instead of a Villain. Mohinder: Lived. *dances wildly in the street* That is all. Seriously this guy should get the last scene of the last episode of the last series, he makes the show for me, along with Hiro. Hiro: Possibly the one Hero to truly prove themself? He has shown he has the real heroic potential, standing against Peter, Adam, his travels. I can't see him killing someone in cold blood, he's too much of a good guy. A paragon character with no limits to his development. Only note is that i'd like to see more Ando in future. Sylar: I really wonder what his new mission will be? Back to basics hunting down people with powers? More likely he will find a new reason to slaughter. He's an excellent mentally unhinged psycho, i'm glad he came back. Only thing is I was hoping they would explain why all his murders flashed before his eyes when Hiro ran him through in series 1. Matt: Glad he didn't die, he's a good and underrated character who keeps developing. Was great seeing him work alonside the Petrelli brothers, and his comment on Hiro "who the hell is this guy?!" made me laugh. Lastly Nikki: I loved the bit where she beat up the thug in the van, I was wondering what would happen with her not having powers, but I forgot the power of a good old kick to the groin. Ouch! Oh and as we didn't even see her collapse much less die I think she will be back. No idea how she could have survived but I get that feeling. Although I really want Nathan to have survived through some miracle of the healing blood and that would deaden the impact of the episode. That said I don't really care if it means we get more Adrian Pasdar and Ali Larter. Yeah can't wait for volume three and the next series, the show hasn't dropped the ball once for me, not even remotely. If Smallville can get 7 series, Heroes deserves at least 8. _______________ To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield | Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken | Rhaiko D'kana - SWTOR EU Guild Co-Founder | Is it what the teacher, teaches? Quote: Just watched the finale! Pretty good, but you can tell a lot of plots were rushed to merge at this point.
i agree... examples being: hiro buries adam. wtf? the whol story about virus. peters girl. she is somewhere in the future, but who cares eh hmm nathan died... just like that... this sux since he was one of my favorites. however that may change since a lot of characters just come back from the dead... and ofcourse there may be some side effects from adams blood... except the thing with ppl dieing and reviving may get old real fast. i kinda hoped maya would stay dead lol. _______________ playing jk3 since 30th of january (2005), member since 1st of february. Quote: actually even his personality was somewhat simmilar to SYLAR's. damn... ;D Its been a while since that series was on, but wasn't he playing a computer geeky type in 24? As opposed to a psychopathic and sadist murderer named after a watch? Same eyebrows though. Finale time! Should be good, considering its only episode 11 a surprisingly large amount of Heroes are in a position where they could be killed off, so long as its not Mohinder, Hiro or Peter i'm happy. Quote: this sounds really weird... to save caitlin he must change the past not the future. according to your theory when the future is changed then Peter never meets Adam, never fights Hiro etc. doesnt make a lot of sense if you ask me. It's the whole causality error in time travel. It doesn't make sense, and you are right (but we are talking Heroes). If he stops the future from turning out as he saw it, then when he and Caitlin jumped into the future, it would have been a different future. Peter wouldn't have returned to the past and met Adam (although Adam was already waiting for him before he went to the future, so he would have still run into him), and not fought Hiro. Basically, if Peter does something to stop the future from happening, he eliminates his reason for stopping it. Causality error in time travel. Back to the Future fixed this by having Marty start to "fade away" if the future didn't turn out the way it should have. This error is oft-overlooked in time travel. Unless, of course, nothing gets altered. That's where I think this is going, is that Peter doesn't change a damn thing about the future. _______________ Jedi do not fight for peace. Awesome episode. Not as unbelievably brilliant as 09, but with one of the most triumphant cliffhangers of the whole show. YAHHHHHHHHHH! <3 Hiro
Interesting that one of the final shots is of the godsend kanji on the sword. Could Hiro's sword be particularly special in some way? He will certainly need help if he fights Peter, no matter how good a swordsman he is Peter is virtually invincible, can shoot lightning and god knows what else, turn invisible etc etc. My guess is something causes the time lock to break. The blurb for the next episode suggests Hiro teams up with Nathan and Matt against Peter and Adam. Also as a Mohinder fan i'm a little worried that it says Maya discovers how truly monstrous Sylar is after he kidnaps Mohinder and Molly, this might just mean Sylar threatens to kill Molly though. Okay just watched the preview as I write this: Not only does it say 2 heroes will fall but it has the pictures of Nathan/Matt/Claire/Hiro and Elle in the background. Considering I don't want 4/5 of those people to die then I really hope its a cooincedence. However, I think Nathan is a possibility. -Peter, Matt and Nathan are in a press conference anyone know what that badge is behind them? Could this be connected to Claire telling the world about her abilities? -Peter saying "lets go destroy the virus" with Adam looking down at something/one and nodding. I get the feeling Peter will knock out Hiro and walk off not realising the history between Adam and Hiro. -The villian will rise bit is pretty obvious, but in case noone noticed Sylar is injecting himself - no doubt with the cure that was intended for Nikki. This dosn't bode well for Mohinder and Molly. Or Maya for that matter. -Matt looks terrified. -Diner blowing up? My bets on this being the Nikki/Mikah plotline, those 'kids' were putting gas cylanders into their van, big badda boom time? -Judging by Mikahs face Nikki might well be in peril R2, well spotted. "No more secrets" Well i'm certainly interesting as to how they will tie up enough plotlines in one 42(?) minute episode. Ah well they have never disappointed before. _______________ To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield | Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken | Rhaiko D'kana - SWTOR EU Guild Co-Founder | Is it what the teacher, teaches? rofl yeah... Peter is trying to save world so badly that he actually destroys it.
just like in season 1... hmmm in next episode we are probably going to see how maya & sylar story is connected with everything else. maybe sylar will get his powers back. if he does... then i surely hope that he wont crack maya's head open. that would be so lame... id rather see her as a dark sith apprentice of sylar. Quote: If the future is changed, then Caitlin and Peter would not have been able to go to that future, thus Caitlin would still be in the present.

Quote: i dunno, kinda saw that coming an episode or two ago. Oh, I saw it coming too. Doesn't mean it isn't awesome when it occurs, and that they left the episode hanging like that. Quote: about peter - why does he want to stop the virus? if he changes future then his girl will be trapped there forever. If the writers are intelligent, it'd be on one of these "rift" things. If the future is changed, then Caitlin and Peter would not have been able to go to that future, thus Caitlin would still be in the present. But if they never are able to go to that future because it doesn't exist that way, then Peter would have no incentive to stop the virus. But if he has no incentive to stop the virus, then the future goes that way, Caitlin gets trapped in it... ...oy vey... Anyways, I think Peter is the one that triggers it all. Peter causes the virus, not stops it. If Peter does NOTHING, the future he saw will not occur. It's just a case of Peter being to stubborn to figure that out. _______________ Jedi do not fight for peace. That's only a slogan, and is as misleading as slogans always are. i surely hope so, he is annoying as hell. Quote: Nikki (via gangsters, attempting to save Monica).
this can actually lead to maica going and asking bob's help. that would suck tho. Quote: End of last night's episode: classic.
i dunno, kinda saw that coming an episode or two ago. i loved 09 episode much more... maybe thats because i love bennet so much as for bennet... well me and my friend were watching this episode and like when bennet started shouting in that lab after getting tied by mohinder, my friend was like 'YARRR MOAR ALE!' in bennets voice. rofled my pants lol Quote: My guess is we'll see how Peter gets that scar of his (Remember in the future, from Season 1, Peter has that wicked facial scar?)
hmmm well timelines change a lot so peter getting that scar in the same way would be definitely weird besides how can peter get a scar like that if he can regenerate whole body parts lol about peter - why does he want to stop the virus? if he changes future then his girl will be trapped there forever. and ofcourse about the oldbie heroes... wtf they have no powers? is this just a coincidence? maybe they all infected themselves to some extent so they lose all their powers. matts father obviously disagreed. _______________ playing jk3 since 30th of january (2005), member since 1st of february. My guess is we'll see how Peter gets that scar of his (Remember in the future, from Season 1, Peter has that wicked facial scar?) Peter has changed a fair bit as far as I can tell... He lost his memory, joined a 400 year old revolutionary who wants to save the world, gave himself to the company, escaped the company and fell for an irish lass.
I really liked the last episode, had me hooked until the end. I must admit I didn't see expect Noah to come back to life so that was a nice surprise. I wonder what consequences Matt taking the name of the woman in the photo from Angela will have? She implied he would be no better than his father. Mohinders actions are shocking but I am not overly surprised, perhaps a little that he shot to kill but thats it. He has been given a lot of characterisation leading to this episode and I felt it played out fairly well, he is doing what he thinks is right... as always. The one question is: Did he know Claire's blood would bring Noah back to life? Did he know he would be able to get him that infusion should it come to that? Its possible, but its a big gamble if so. He seems genuinly shocked in that van. West: I agree with R2 here, first episode i've really liked his character in. He was alright at first, then irritating and uninteresting, however here he seems to find the character that was missing before, and he works REALLY well with Jack Coleman (Noah) on screen; the conversation about cars towards the end was funny and showed they were beginning to accept each other. Hiro as always was excellent, but so was his father Kaito. George Takei really shined here, and it was a great farewell to his cameo role. Hiro's words towards the end were very moving, and led perfectly to the reveal about Noah. I had already guessed Adam killed Kaito a few episodes ago but the scene was well done and effective, the showdown between them could be epic. It would certainly be interesting if Peter got in the way, but Peter still has his morals, he just wants to save the world - not attack harmless Hiro? I'm guessing the fact that Elle's faith in her father has been shaken could also be leading somewhere... like her betraying him. _______________ To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield | Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken | Rhaiko D'kana - SWTOR EU Guild Co-Founder | Is it what the teacher, teaches? Quote: Now I've heard, that there's been some sort of disagreement with the writers of the show and they're cutting the season short.
The next episode or the one after that is the last one for the season? Unless they come to some agreement, I'm not sure what it's all about though. Also that would SUCK. Yes its the WGA (writers guild of America) strike. It is affecting all tv and film production in America, and is expected to last until sometime in last year, possibly as late as the summer if we are unlucky. However everyone is hoping the company's get their asses in gear and realise they need to accept the Writers demands and get on with making decent television. Everything from Lost to Family Guy has been affected. Including Heroes. The only shows not affected are those operating outside of America (e.g Stargate Atlantis in Canada, British stuff), or shows that use non-WGA writers (however almost all writers in america are members). Heroes wise, they have only completed 11 episodes it is true, the 11th episode was always planned as the ending to volume 2 - Generations. However originally series 2 would continue with Volume 3 'Exodus', unfortunatly due to the strike they have written an alternate version of episode 11 that will act as a full season finale for the whole of season 2. The Heroes spin off 'Origins' has also been postponed, perhaps indefinitley. Beyond that Heroes will obviously return when the strike is over, the same as shows like 24, BSG, Lost (8 episodes air in feb) etc. Edit: So according to the blurb, someone will be kicking the bucket in the next episode.
