Who's Your favourite guitar player ?

Returning to the original question,
at the moment, my favourite guitarist is Duane Allman. I've been playing nothing but slide for the past two years, and even if I try to listen to someone else, I always return to Duane. He had impeccable skill with the glass slide, and his sound was so unique (back then). Too bad he passed away far too young (died in 1971 or something). Another mind-blowing slide guitarist is Lowell George of the amazing Little Feat. He qualifies for the same reasons as Duane, and it's a shame they never played on the same recording. George died in 1979, I think. Also, you can't listen to slide guitar without listening to the OLD masters, like Robert Johnson, Son House, etc. I just love those tunes. If I had to pick some more guitarists, I'd definitely go with Eric Clapton from his John Mayall era (never really liked his solo stuff, and these days he's just too pop. The raw blues attitude he had going on in the 60s was amazing). Django Reinhardt, Eddie Lang and Carl Johnson are also incredible; I could listen to their jazz for days on end. I love talking about guitar music! And don't get me started on guitars themselves. I don't, because they weren't and I fail to see how you think they were, you have yet to explain why without merely quoting me and stating that they were.
It's statements like "Please clean up your act" that prove what I have said in my previous posts here. You don't need to say stuff like that, you're just trying to be condescending and get a rise out of me. Fair enough if you truly believe I was being a hypocrite, but the least you could do is explain why you feel I have and what parts, instead of just quoting me and taking personal shots. As for the Empire smiley thing... I don't get it. Is that a referance to how I sign my name on the Forums? If so, then you should know that I've signed my name like that on almost every comment I've made since I joined the JA, and really don't see how something as trivial as me signing my name after a post with a Rebel insignia is a shot at you... Who are you to tell someone to clean up their act when YOU are the instigator? This is a person who has done more service here, for absolutely nothing in return, than you've likely ever done. Show some respect, or there's a very good chance you'll be out on your arse. And nobody wants that; I personally would much rather see another guitar enthusiast around here who can actually maintain a civil conversation. Passive-aggressive behaviour don't fly here, son! |

I'm usually one to give people the benefit of the doubt and I think I've done that more than once with you here and I tire of it. Your personal attacks are unwarrented and your attitude is very poor.
