Could you remove the hilts from the academy map or atleast say which file they are located in having to go past them while picking a saber all the time gets annoying after a while.

Your argument is true except that it is the main map used by the entire community. And this is a quite large community although inactive.
If someone makes something made for the entire community i would think they would also try to service the community in things regarding it. Why should he have to? Its his map. Its his hilts. Its his decision. If you designed something and decided that along with it you wanted to put something additional on, because its yours wouldn't you want to?

How about everytime you turned on a tv you had to press a button to go beyond a blank screen. Would you turn that feature off in the settings or would you keep pressing that button everytime you turned it on ? Not at all.
The map file is on the servers and so are the included hilts, so those that want to be able to view and use them can do so. If you don't, then it's fine if you want to remove them.

That's all understandable, but you don't have a problem with people just throwing them out of the pk3 folder, do you?

There are only two Lightsaber hilts in the PK3 files of the_academy_v2 and the_academy_v3, which is my hilt and Jaiko D'Kana's hilt.
My hilt is in there for reasons that should be obvious... I built the map and wanted to be able to use my hilt, lol. And it's my perogative to do so, something as trivial as people having to skip past my hilt while selecting their own isn't really a concern. If there had been 20 or 30 hilts included in the PK3, then you'd have a point as it would be an obvious annoyance - not to mention the pk3 file size being much larger. Jaiko's is in there because he helped me out quite a bit while making the maps with sound and music files, so I built him a hilt and put it in there as a "thank you" for his efforts in helping me. Sorry if those two hilts provide a mild annoyance for you, but they're not going anywhere and if I build more maps for the JA, they'll be in there, too. Carry on.

I didn't like them in their either, not that they aren't nice sabers, but I never use them.
Anywho, I removed them by opening the v2 and v3 pk3's and deleting the sabers that were in models>weapons2 & ext_data>sabers. Those might not be exactly the names of the files, but it's pretty obvious once you get into the root folders. _______________ "Deos fortioribus adesse."
