hey there friends and enemies (mostly enemies)! so the JAA have recently re-entered the competitive ESL ladder after a long break in which we practiced up quite a bit to be better prepared for the competition.
so, our first match back was an extremely exciting one against team Solum. This team consisted primarily of ex-TuA players, which is a team that at one point was definitely one of the better teams in the ESL. we had lost a couple of practice matches to Solum prior to the match, so we knew we'd have to bring our A game. the lineup for both rounds consisted of Komence, Piccolo and Vision. round 1 was played on their server at mp/ffa2 (korriban) - probably the most common map used for ESL matches. we jumped out to a nice early lead and by the end of round 1 had a 16-13 lead, but we were all low on health. somehow, all 3 of us managed to die and round 1 ended at a 16-16 tie. round 2 was at our server and we decided to use mp/ffa3 as our map (tatooine). we had high spirits coming into the round, firmly believing that we'd be able to bring home the win on our server. however, we started off extremely slow, going down 5-1, a deficit very difficult to come back from in ESL. however, Piccolo was able to almost single-handedly carry the team and keep us well within striking distance while myself and Vision struggled for the first half of the match. somehow, we were able to tie it up at 16-16. we took a 19-18 lead with about 10 seconds left, but they ended up getting a frag and tying the match once again at 19-19. however, with about 4 seconds left, we had a nice backstab and got the final frag, ending the round at 20-19. due to his second round heroics and great frag ratio that kept us in the game for the entire first half of the second round, Man of the Match honors go to Piccolo! congrats amigo! 
overall, this was a pretty amazing match. the Aurochs managed to come out with the win though! well, we had another match today against a polish team called "high quality team". first round on their server gave us a lot of problems, their staffer was really hard to break through (really blocky) and i guess we just didn't play well. we really do need to work on playing better at other teams' servers :p
second round was different though. they tried to staff us up pretty bad by eventually using 3 staffers in the round but didn't quite work, we were able to hold our lead throughout the match and eventually extend it a bit. overall, we didn't play too well but were still able to come out with the win! moral of the story: don't do drugs http://www.esl.eu/eu/jkja/tdm/ladder/match/14210468/ |

Yeah so just a quick update about the JAA squad: after the match with Solum we got a draw with Antares and lost 3 points and on Sunday we won against Duality TDM so now we're 2nd place in the ESL TDM Ladder. Komence can give you guys more info about the matches etc.

Well done guys, and from what I read, well done Picc. I'm not sure how this will go down, but where I am from whether we play Rugby or Football, we of course have man of the match, but we also have d*ck of the day. Usually that person will end up having to bolt a pint after the match, so I am unsure how that will work in the context of a game, but it could be a bit of a laugh, surely? Maybe person who gets fragged most? Or person who gets killed in the silliest situation, meh, I’m just speculating, but it may bring more fun and camaraderie. Anyway, just an idea for you to mull over.
