i think thats the case. there is just no demand of realistic or semi-realistic fighting game. a few years ago dark messiah was released. ofcourse it had its problems, but its surprising that people didnt mod it to death. nobody heart of any other semi realistic fighting game ever since. except maybe mount and blade. majority just want to press a button and see their character perform a flashy attack. notice how every noob in jka uses katas exclusively. that ut3 mod looks promising, but it looks like it needs a lot of work. i mean its already after what... 7-8 months of development and effectively it looks like ut3 with different guns. _______________ playing jk3 since 30th of january (2005), member since 1st of february. Mount and blade is a good game but mostly a good singleplayer game. It doesn't hurt to add it as a supported game. We will still be supporting jka anyway. I made a list of possible games and mods a while ago. Here is it again:

Mods -SW: The New Era(Source engine): Probably the best bet, this mod merged with moviebattles source and they recently started working on it again.(link) -First Strike(Battlefield 2142): Seems like a good alternative for battlefront.(link) -Galactic Warfare(COD4): Very good graphics, true first person shooter.(link) -SW: Spec-Ops(CSS): Showed potential but appears to be dead.(link) Well there you have it. As you can see I keep track of a lot of games/mods. I'll let you guys know when something big happens. There's one thing left to say though. None of these mods are even close to the JK series experience, exept SW:TNE which might include a similar saber system. I am surprised that no one of the huge jk fanbase has taken the time to make jk4 in an opensource engine. I've been planning on modding/making a game myself for a long time and jk4 is one of the things I would want to make. If there isn't a jk4 in the next few years I might search a team and start on it myself. Anyway I think I've said enough for now! Also important: We could support moviebattles too now that mbu died. i wouldnt give up yet. there was quite a delay between jk1 and jk2 - 5 years. then 1 year till jka. now i imagine we are great fans of the series so... do we want to be worse than starcraft, diablo or duke nukem fans? ofcourse not. so we will definitely wait. 15 years sounds about right... jk4 in 2018. pretty soon dont you think? xD we can go even more extreme with something like bionic commando - 20 years... 2023. xD _______________ playing jk3 since 30th of january (2005), member since 1st of february. For me TJA has always been about people, yeah I came for the game all those years ago but I stayed for the people and I keep coming back from time to time for the people.
In all the time I've been a gamer I've never come across an organisation like TJA. In part I think it was born from the unique nature of the games and people’s attitudes toward the license. Ironically the closest organisation I've been in is a guild where you have that camaraderie. JK4 is a dream, no matter how much any of us want to see it just isn’t happening. One day with JK forgotten someone may decide it's a good idea to make a JK style game but it won't be part of the JK series that we all know and love. Speaking as someone who has played a LOT of MMO's for the last 6 or 7 years, I think Mastz00r's above quote is spot on. More so than perhaps a lot may believe. Training will consist of, "Don't stand there when that boss does this move" or, "No, no.. press 1, 2 THEN 5. Then go back to 2. That's how to get maximum damage per second for that class type" I used to tank for my guild and training/advice to other tanks would be.. "check out this list of gear/stats. You need at least that much to go into this raid instance" or, "maximum threat rotation starts with 'x' move instead of 'y' move." ..or various random strategies for fighting bosses, which as a tank mainly involve where you position the boss, which way to make him face etc. Boring stuff and not related to a players skill or improvement hardly at all in comparison to JK training. I'm not overly keen on what I have seen of Mount & Blade to be honest but it's at least closer to the training aspect TJA has. Personally I can't see me playing ToR for that long because it looks exactly the same game mechanics as the last stack of MMO's I've played, just with a fresh lick of paint. Due to MBII devs set up a permanent time-limit to every gametype and they ruined the sabering system. Maybe MBU administration thought otherwise, but this is atleast why I quit playing MBII. Nowadays MBU has changed to Starwars Universe(based on mod of SWG called SWGemu), which has also put on hold. Reason totally unknown to me, but I guess, because we are only human and we can't diverse ourselves in space/time continuum. Also I want to sharpen the edge of idea of patience and learning and evolving, so we wouldn't need to invent time travel. If I seem like a hypocrisy cuckoo and a guy who never answers to the problem, you are free to take your demand of "my resign" for the council and see up what they decide. I do whatever my leaders tell me to do due to I respect every member, their wishes and the system of this community. However It does matter who's JAK and who's not, due to It decides is system working or not and is the system reliable. Lately none of my padawans nor the new students has come to my profile "I want to play JKA with you" or "I have an interesting theory to cheer JKA's activity up" or "Get active!" "Get on MSN or X-fire" or "Lets assure that there's many different ways to approach me, you need to just post it up to my profile, my padawans know how to approach me and yeah, It is my profile" Whatever happens, I still support Mount&Blade+Starwars Conquest mod. We can have even 5 different starwars games. The Key thing is to keep this community running so I can come back after 10 years to say "w00t these awesome guys are still here." -We maintain a focus on jk3/2. -We support a TOR branch of TJA.net, incorporate the communities together. -we support a M&B Star Wars: Conquest branch, incorporate the communities together. We don't lose anyone, change anything OR lose sight of purpose. We DO gain more members due to a wider range of interests and activities, increased support for everybody AND get to play more games together. Thus having more fun.
