I'm curious as to see what happens here, when we change over, will the jats stay jats and just learn the new game or will we all get bumped down to students no one with any privellages, and then while the jacs prepare a trial, and those of us good at the new game take the trial and take jat. My only point is, which mine doesn't mean much, but what about the innactive knights. I've been here for months and there are still a few knights that I haven't even saw/met or have even posted in the forums in ages..................... Anyway who would be doing this trialing? The Jats and jaks do the trials so who would make up the test and perform it? I dont agree with you Ulic. I think the people that will buy JK:JA and will go to the JK:JA Academy should stay the same ranked or position as they were in the JKII JA. JK:JA will have new features but is mostly the same. If you will need to trial all members including JAK, JAT it will take years, seeing that all people wanna get trialed cause they say they are very good in JK:JA way better then they were in JKII. The JAK and JAT werent choosen by only skills, but also by kindness, attitude and other important factors. When they go play JK:JA they dont need to learn those things again together with there teaching skills. Also have they proven themselves worthy time and time again to help the JA or its members. So I say leave the ranks the same for JK:JA as they were/are for JKII. (unless they want to start over again as a student themselves offcourse) |

I reckon we should stay as we are (and no I'm not saying this to save my position  ) although I'm still gonna trial MYSELF, to see if I'm up to my standards.About the whole skill thing. Knights need skill to pass the trial, but after that, you don't really even need to play. What about the innactive knights ? I agree with you, I've long thought about this but the most logical scenario would be this: JK:JA must be considered a game completely different from JK:JA. We can all predict that at least on the movement and saber areas a lot will have changed (after all, that's what Lucas Arts is constantly saying everywhere). If the Academy moves to the new game, the same ranking system will obviously be installed. To fill the ranks, there shall be trials taken. I think the council should keep a close watch on this, after all they will be the only ones capable of nominating anyone (if that's still the policy). Current JAKs and JATs will be trialed along with the students. The fact that they are JAKs and JATs in JK:JO must not have any influence on the outcome of a trial. Probably, most JAKs and JATs will receive high ranks in the new game. But it is wrong to just transfer them to a game that is totally new. _______________ Ceterum censeo Carthaginem esse delendam |

Honestly, I think the JAT's and JAK's should get to keep their positions when we move to JK:JA. Why do i think this, becuase JAK and JAT is based very little on much they pwn people. JAK's are given position becuase teachers feel they have what it takes to be an example and help govern the servers. JAT's gets their positions because they are helpfull and have the ability to teach others effectivly. Those skills dont just go away becuase a new game is out. I think all people in positions should keep their positions. And new people who excell in the new game who meet the other requirements should be drafted into the ranks. |

A JAT who is going to use a dual blade or two sabers will obviously take longer to adapt than one who will stick with the single (like me). So basically I think we can get classes like that up rather quickly then later on set up classes for the other two styles. The single blade can definately not be so much different from JK2's, at least it better not be  . _______________  Luke Skywalker

So you say the academy has to have servers but dont do classes the first weeks to get people good enough to become a JAK/JAT. I think the JAK/JAT can adapt to jk3 very fast and ofcourse they will have to start like anybody else, but they still have the experience of teaching and everything around being a JAT. |

Jats and jaks should definetly lose their positions when we move completely into jk3. Because there could be other players far better in jk3, who could be teaching us, instead of some of these jats who may probably not be as good, or take more time to catch up. Also in response to a post a bit below, to be frank, I believe skill has more to do with being a jat than anything else, because your saber skill is what you teach in classes and that's what people have come to learn, to be better jk2ers/jk3ers, they don't teach good attitude and good personality classes. Those qualities should be minimal on the list of prioritys. I mean sure, if you've got a real wack job, who is real crazy in the brain, but good at the game, maybe he/she is not suited to teach, but that's a seldom case. _______________ JiM This comment was edited by DoriaN on May 28 2003 04:25pm. |
