Okay about time I edited this thread after 1/2 year of life. Can you imagine SW if there was only the Dark or the Light side??? It would *definitely* _STINK_! However, which is more powerful? I think it's the Dark Side: => More Jedi fall to the d/s than Sith/Dark Jedi go to the l/s (MANY more) => Look at the duels (in the movies). You see the Sith being calm (prolly fighting more than one Jedi) and the Jedi being ready to shit on themselves  => The d/s force powers are offensive (used to kill  ) whereas the l/s force powers are defensive. And we all know the best defense is offense  => NORMALLY, when some Jedi fights a Sith the Sith has the Force Power advantage. Not many Jedi can absorb D/S Force Powers. They must be really trained, and that's unusual. OK Yoda is the force beast (I mean he handles the force like no-one else can, hmm, maybe like Palpatine, just maybe, but prolly a bit more) so he was really cool defending against Dooku's force powers. But, see, Dooku was less trained than Yoda in the Force and still he could attack him alright without losing (lightsaber fight is something else, not concerning the Force Sides). So as you can see less trained D/Sers can beat the hell outta a Jedi using the force alone  (don't include Yoda eh)=> And well, after seeing the movies, haven't you noticed how much cooler the Sith are than the Jedi?  ******BTW: Who wants to see a Yoda VS Palpatine fight on ep3!!!???****** _______________ Your friends of today, are your enemies of tomorrow. You cant determine which side is strongest based on which of the users of each side can anniahlate the other. Of course the dark side make people better at destroying people, its no surprise they have greater strength in battle. But could a dark sider ever heal someone who has a critical illness ? I doubt it, Could a dark sider seek insight into an important decision ? "A jedi uses the force for knowledge and defence, never for attack" As for the dooku becoming stronger all of the sudden, well yeah thats because the dark side is the "Quick and easy path" So yoda was surprise at how quickly he gain strength, and then realised it was because of the dark side. Equal or light side stronger for sure. I belive with enouhg time patience and training any light sider would be almost ultiamte. And I think the dark side is stronger, thought about it yesterday and suddenly a scene sprung up, the yoda vs Dooku, Yoda says:"Strong have you become, the dark side I sence in you." But Darth Vader (Turning back to Anakin Skywalker) did help Luke in the process. Maybe it is something of discipline. The Dark Side just lets out its anger, an easy way out of things. In their anger, perhaps they, not with a lot of discipline, waste some of that Force energy recklessly w/o knowing. The Light Side has much more discipline, its users have to control their inner feelings. I actually believe that both sides are equal. If you look at the cosmology of Star Wars it's strictly dualistic meaning, that objectively the two sides are indifferent and neccesary to each other. At the same time the entire cosmos is made up of both sides, the one being more prevalent in some areas than the other. This means that you can't have one without the other (no life without death, no good without evil etc.). The two sides are valueless in themselves, but they are given value by the sentients who experience them. When the dark side are considered evil, it is because sentient being consider death, suffering and chaos to be bad things (understandably). Likewise the light side is cosidered good because the abovementioned sentient being appreciate life, peace, harmony and order. The question of the nature of the force is therefore very much an ethical question. When the dark side is viewed as easier than the light, it is because the feelings ascociated with the dark side (fear, anger, hatred) is easyer accessed than the feeling ascociated with the light side (serenity, compassion, altruism), and not because of the nature of the force itself (which is neutral). the dark is all about power whereas the light is all about bringin peace 2 the galaxy and stopping the dark, therefore dark has 2 b more powerful but if u think th@light defeating dark makes light more powerful, it is nearly always because of light outnumbering dark. |
