Okay about time I edited this thread after 1/2 year of life. Can you imagine SW if there was only the Dark or the Light side??? It would *definitely* _STINK_! However, which is more powerful? I think it's the Dark Side: => More Jedi fall to the d/s than Sith/Dark Jedi go to the l/s (MANY more) => Look at the duels (in the movies). You see the Sith being calm (prolly fighting more than one Jedi) and the Jedi being ready to shit on themselves  => The d/s force powers are offensive (used to kill  ) whereas the l/s force powers are defensive. And we all know the best defense is offense  => NORMALLY, when some Jedi fights a Sith the Sith has the Force Power advantage. Not many Jedi can absorb D/S Force Powers. They must be really trained, and that's unusual. OK Yoda is the force beast (I mean he handles the force like no-one else can, hmm, maybe like Palpatine, just maybe, but prolly a bit more) so he was really cool defending against Dooku's force powers. But, see, Dooku was less trained than Yoda in the Force and still he could attack him alright without losing (lightsaber fight is something else, not concerning the Force Sides). So as you can see less trained D/Sers can beat the hell outta a Jedi using the force alone  (don't include Yoda eh)=> And well, after seeing the movies, haven't you noticed how much cooler the Sith are than the Jedi?  ******BTW: Who wants to see a Yoda VS Palpatine fight on ep3!!!???****** _______________ Your friends of today, are your enemies of tomorrow. It ONLY looks like the Darkside is more powerful, in the films anyway, all that lightning and moody guys in goth costumes. IMO I think that they are both equal, but they both also have their failings. Darkside think that they are stronger and cannot be resisted and the Lightside are too arrogent to see that the Sith exist. As someone said earlier two sides of the same coin, Ying/Yang and all that! Light Side is more powerful, but less persuasive. It takes more self control to use, but always tops dark side when done with care. No Force side is stronger, because they're all part of one, like yin and yang. Dark side can't exist without light and light without dark. The dark side is more tempting, it's easier. Another thing, the dark side can kill a Jedi. Along with the power, there is hate, anger, and rage. These things betray just as they help an dark jedi. I agree with bail. They are both equal. The appeal of the darkside is because of the power one would gain from using dark forces. Not power over jedi, but others in general. They are both equal... For every Light Side power, there is a Dark Side Power to counter (or replace it) Like: ForceDrain --> Lightning (Lightning doesn't hurt when a Jedi uses ForceDrain) And always remember the conversation between Luke and Master Yoda: "Is the Dark Side stronger?" luke asks "No, that not. Its pretty obvious that the dark side is more POWERFULL... But i like the light side! imagine a universe of death stars - everyone being scared to death every day, just to go to work! And then imagine a universe of naboos and yavins, with birds singing - all beautifull... Id choose nr 2!!! Jedi has more colorfull lightsabers to.. Sith only has red! But lets consider the game - what light powers do i use? Heal. What dark powers do i use? Drain, lightning and grip... You can of course choose yourself, but a lvl 3 heal = YummY! but then, a lvl 3 drain is nice to... AND; the Jedi cant get busyyyy  The dark side on the other side can do whaEva it wants!! the jedi has sworn an oath or something, poor bastards.. In "reality" the dark side consumes it aLL!.. - allways its about a jedi turned baaad.. Another thing, why hadnt Sidious trained more sith to guard him..? Desann did it.. Someone did say The path to the dark side is fast but fatal(?) and the path to the light side sucks..??? why dont make a whole bunch of "reborn" and attack luke? Does anybody have an answer??#MeSsy TeXt!!# _______________ Concider the lillys... NORWAY RUUULES!!! VIKING-POWER!!.. Right..... Dark will always prevail. Its presance is always troubling for the jedi as luke is constantly mumbling "I sense a disturbance in the force", "I feel disturbance in the force" bleh bleh bleh but you never hear the Darkside complaining about Jedi when they come face to face, in fact they like it due that they know they are the stronger. Ligh and Dark are such limiting concepts. There is something beyond these two but very few have ever found it and none speak of it. When you feel them in the force it is like standing directly next to a star as it goes nova. Jacen Solo found it and now has no eqaul either Light or Dark. In the rest of the universe though neither is more powerful. For without one you cannot have the other. Without light there is no darkness and without darkness there is no light for they define each other. |

There was a scene were Yoda said that cM@D_X And Force Absorb is indeed only used by powerful Jedi like Yoda. But not only Lightning can be absorbed |

forgive me if i am wrong, but i can't remember seeing such scene in ep V... and well, about the force absorb... I think only POWERFUL Jedi can use that do avoid lightning... maybe that's y Obi Wan or Luke didn't do so... The DarkSide may have a strong influence and powerful ways to kill, but if a Jedi is strong (like luke) the light will always prevail. Luke: "Is the Dark Side stronger?" Yoda: "No, no." I suppose most of you say "Darkside" but.. are you thinking in terms of the Game or the Movies.... cuz in E2 all those LightSide Jedi helped eachother out when they getting shot in the arena.. and DarkSiders always by themselves.. and everyone LOVES alittle help right ? and that is why Lightsider's are the BEST.. DarkSider's may have the Lighting, but when Yoda absorb'd that count guys lightning I bet count felt salty.. he got his butt wooped... blahaha Darkside are such noobs.. lol |
