I just bought XP to install on a freshly formatted C: drive. Everything went smoothly up to 9 mins left on the install when the computer died. I went back in and repaired it but a problem continually occured. I could never get past the part where is asks to scan your drive. When I scan the drive, it freezes and when I don't it freezes or the screen appears to blur so nothing could be seen. This only happens when I try to go start up not in safe mode. lol you bought it? im hurting. anyway, try formatting again, then reinstalling. you cant realy do much more than that w/ windows =-\ edit -- what are you using to format? oh prolly it does it before the installation. that might be whats screwin it up. windows is wierd like that. another edit -- PM me on irc and i can explain better i think hopefully This comment was edited by aph3x on Jun 05 2003 12:38pm. |

Sounds like hard drive but could be video driver or a bad cd you got. Odds are the cd you got is defective. Try to format the drive and install windows again. If the cd is bad you'll know it cause the same problem will occure again. If it's a bad spot on the drive then you should find that out when you format. it could also be the hard drive itself, Win XP is rather pickey, your hard drive might not be compadible either that or your hard drive was corupted in the install or is perm. damaged |

I know this wont help, DB, might I feel like interjecting some 'humor' here... Hit it a few times, that's how it's done. If my TV gets fuzzy, BAM. Always works; except that one time when I hit it too hard and................... Anyways, DB, I also know that some computers make you want to put your fist through the monitors... Hi DB. Koyi Donita and I think you should contact your computer or hardware supplier and ask them for advise. Also you can try going to the Microsoft web site and check out troubleshooting or FAQ about XP. We know how frustrating computers can be and we wish you the best of luck with it. P.S.
