Pepsi, I highly doubt Bubu's comment of owning everyone in a matter of seconds was said in any true seriousness of how he thinks. Otherwise he would probably not have attained the rank of JK. As for the things of "I already know all the stuff in the initiate class. Why should I have to sit through it?" That's not addressed directly to you Acidus or anyone. I've seen it said several times. How can you be sure you know everything in lower classes unless you've taken them. Maybe there is a small tactic or maneuver you aren't very familiar with. Also how will anyone at the academy know you are qualified to skip levels unless you demonstrate the knowledge by doing what the class asks you. And if you really know so many of the easy and intermediate things then you should just blow through all your classes and points and attain a high rank in no time.
Another point is patience. I don't think I've seen too many of the people who have attained Knight or Trainer begging to get their trials in or asking why they should attend this class or that. You might also be the greatest player to ever put your fingers to the keyboard but that's not going to matter in the least if you can't teach someone else how to do it. That's why the trainers are trainers. They know how to teach the stuff. I think most gun players on here are good gun players because of all the times they spent on other shooter games. Bubu: If the academy is about learning, then why not learn from the best? If the best aren't knights or instructors, then why learn from them if there is better tutoring available elsewhere? I for one would like to see you "own everyone in a matter of seconds" (a statement that btw bears witness of extremely poor attitude) in a variety of gametypes, and not just plain old dueling. You could try owning me in a 1on1 ctf guns game or guns ffa. Just pick your choice, little child, and bring pen and paper, cause papa's gonna school you. Boo ya! /Pepsi |

one thing i must say in here. and i haven't read all the posts so just slap me if this has been said already.
but anyways, remember that you gain rank, not only because you are a master at the game and you can own everyone in a matter of seconds. you get rank for attitude, mainly. this is especially true for the higher ranks. so please don't complain that you are l33t but only an initiate or whatever. prove that you have the right attitude and you will go up the rangs of the ladder rather quickly
this is also what the academy is about, it's not all about ownage. if you don't like that, well... don't try to change it, because it won't!

I find it frustrating being at seemingly a low level, when I know my skill is much higher.
Its kind of worse when the only classes the might benefit me are often limited to these higher ranks... and you've begun to tell the jats not to give people points if they dont learn.. so.... I need to go to classes on things I already know to get points... but can't yet go to any that might teach me anything because of my skill and level mismatch |

The ranks are good for showing what people know and who is eligible for other things like Knightship.
We could make it so that only Padawans could become Knights...I don't really like that idea... The system works fairly well for most people, despite it's problems. I would like to see rankings in different areas. I for one hardly ever play ffa, and I never play duelling, but that seems to be what most of the classes are all about. Put me to the trial in a ctf guns game and get owned. I'd like to see the one that refuses me knight or trainer status after that. |

I personally would, cuz how would we as an academy know if we were doing anything if theres no way to progress, its just like a school. You work your way through the grades, and either stay as an ever learning student, or if you pass, become a trainer. I belive it should be everyones goal to become a knight, if not a trainer.
I'm reminded of harry potter, all the initites/learners/j-men are just normal students at The Jedi Academy, the knights are the Prefects, and the trainers are the....well.....trainers....but yeah you should all wanna be a Prefect, or a trainer. -Dice P.S. if you don't wanna be a knight, i want you 2 be a knight.
