How's about someone making a demo recording of classes and collecting them together to make them available to academy students? One person in a class could volunteer/be selected to record a session, then the recording could be sent to whomever manages the archive? That way, any classes you've missed will at least be viewable later. The holocron would be a nice spot to put them. I'd say the assisting JAKs or students should record. It leads to pretty high lagging, therefore it shouldnt be done by the students or teacher as they need all their ressources for the class itself. Btw, it wouldnt have any use to have the same class recorded twice, would it? Ok, Seems like we have a positive response. Here's how I think it could be done, firstly, "g_synchronousclients 1" needs to be set on the JA servers. This var also needs to be set to start recording on the client too. Heres a bind to start recording on a client PC: bind key "g_synchronousclients 1;record; g_synchronousclients 0" The "g_synchronousclients 0" setting is there to prevent the client from becoming laggy after recording starts I think that a volunteer in each class should go into spectator mode in order to capture the action from a free floating camera angle. This would be much more flexible than being stuck in the viewpoint of a particular student or teacher. I think it's a good idea. Each class a jat teaches should be recorded, then they can be reviewed later on if others wish to reference or check the history. _______________ JiM |

Great Idea! And in addition to watching the lessons you missed, you could have a couple of n00b recordings, where it is just one trainer, talking on the demo, with noone else on the server (well, maybe an assistant) just teaching some new things to new player, for example, the DFA's and the lunge and possibly he could talk about the good/bad points about different styles, and so on. I like this idea, all you'd have to do is for the recorder to set their text on screen rate to higher so text stays up longer (you can't go into console to see what was typed in a demo  )I also think it might be better to do with no students, mainly because then there'd be no interruptions. But...Students do raise some important points and questions which the viewer might also have wanted to ask.
