If kids act up, you punish them. If you don't punish them...they never learn. Don't know what he did, but he has had innumerable chances to make things right. Maybe this *permanent* ban will actually help him out in the long run in RL. Sorry things went bad Loaf, and you always seemed pretty cool with me, but ya gotta learn sometime. And cyberspace is a little more forgiving than the real world. And things are _never_ out of your control. If you are the one doing it, it's coming out of you. Not anyone else. You just need to know what to do and how to do it. If you have to, seek counseling. I've done it myself, and it definitely can help you understand what's going on inside your own head. Remember that this place isnt' a popularity contest either. Just because enough people like you doesn't mean you should get 5 million chances when someone else does far less and is banned and never allowed to be let back in. People need to remember that just because you like one guy that's been banned doesn't mean he's been great and wonderful to everyone else. Like I said on his profile, we must take this as a good thing, as the council will only do things to protect us, or to benefit us. Loaf, to me, didn't seem like he was making a big effort to fit in, and to be nice, but he was still being quite bigotrous and at times, abbrasive. I'll miss him, but still, I won't miss his "dark side". |
