Now here's a bugger! I've never run into this problem before and I think I handled it diplomatically. I was just on a server this morning whopping some British and Polish butt and the guys were getting really ticked off that they couldn't beat me so I explained to them they should come here to the Academy they thought it wise but the admin got pissed off. He told me to get my own server and to recruit elsewhere. So I told him I wasn't recruiting his men and I explained what we were here for and he really didn't seam to acknowledge what I had said. He just strutted his feathers and said he was the admin. I was hopping for a more understanding approach from him considering I just mopped the floor with his clan. Mind you I'm not all that great but I was remaining focused on the duel. (Not always the case) What would you have done in such a situation like that? Mind you I wasn't a smart-ass. I was being polite and informative. I think being rude would have got me kicked considering his cockiness. _______________ "Look not back in anger, nor forward in fear But around you in awareness." I concur. You didn't lose your head and start getting all defensive and in his face. If he can't accept the fact that someone outside of his organization is offering help selflessly and without malice, and that there is a possibility that he will lose face because of that, then that should teach him a lesson of what being a leader is. Hey, dop. I think you handled it well. Just remember this: there are always people in the world that have _just a little power_...but because of that, they feel a need to lord that _little power_ over everyone. You ran up against that such a person. There's nothing else you could have done. You just have to walk away. I'm not sure I would have gone so far as to do what the guys have said below (although I would have loved to have done it myself!...don't get me wrong!)...but the true "jedi way" of handling the situation would have been to do what you did, and then say, "well...i'm sorry you feel that way. I respectfully disagree." And either leave it at that and keep kicking butt on that server silently, or leave. Period. Nothing much else you could do then. Nice to see you around on the forums, btw! I would have done the same thing you had done. Then, if he still wasn't listening, I would have told him to duel me, and after I pwned his ass I would have said: "Well, it looks like you should come to the academy too, maybe then your clan could actually WIN." Then he'd get pissed and kick me from the server. |
