I've been thinking. Darth Vader and the Palpatine were supposed to hunt down and kill of nearly all the jedi. But what about Mace Windu? I mean, in the Star Wars Visual guide, it says that he trains in saber form VII the highest form. It nearly boarders on sith style. As well as the book saying he's the best lightsaber duelest in the universe. So what happened to him? Did he die? Or just disappear? And if he died how? Personally, if he died i think it would be because he scarificed his life for another. Though a member of the High Council since the age of 28, this did not dull Windu's fighting edge or his willingness to venture forth on dangerous missions. His exploits are legendary, and he was an inspiration to his fellow Jedi, leading through rigorous example and steady discipline. In his day, Mace was one of the best lightsaber fighters of the Jedi order. Only the most skilled of the Jedi could master the his Form VII discipline of combat -- the deadly technique known as vaapad -- for its aggressive nature treaded dangerously upon dark side practices. Among his better-known assignments in the service of the Republic was an expedition to Yinchorr to investigate the deaths of two Jedi. Also, Windu spearheaded a diplomatic mission to Malastare, to forge a truce between the Red Iaro terrorist group and the people of Lannik. Shortly thereafter he uncovered illegal animal trade on Nar Shaddaa involving akk dogs -- deadly yet beloved predators native to Mace's homeworld of Haruun Kal. One of Mace's numerous apprentices was the Chalactan Jedi Depa Billaba. Under his skilled tutelage, Billaba became a remarkable Jedi, ascending to rank of Master herself and earning a place on the Jedi Council beside her former Master. Another of his Padawans was Echuu Shen-Jon, a Jedi who would ultimately survive the dark times. The Clone Wars were a trying time for Windu, as he had to adapt to the new role of the Jedi as military leaders. Not all the Jedi agreed with their positions as Generals in the wars, and a group of dissident Jedi splintered from the order. When Mace went to parley with these dissidents, he found himself in the jaws of a trap -- the meeting was a set-up. Asajj Ventress, an agent of Count Dooku, attacked Windu. Though Asajj was outmatched and fled, Mace Windu reported this new threat to the Jedi Council. It was further evidence of the rising tide of the dark side. Six months into the Clone Wars, Mace Windu received a disturbing report that his former Padawan, Depa Billaba, had possibly gone mad on the battlefront of Haruun Kal. He returned to the inhospitable jungles of his homeworld to seek out the rogue Jedi, and got a firsthand look at the horrors of the Clone Wars. _______________ Padawan of Mace Windu, Brother to All. SPOILERRRR DO NOT READ IF YOU DO NOT WANT WINDUS FATE TO BE GIVEN OUT  Windu arrives at Palpatine’s office to air his suspicions directly to Palpatine. Anakin is present with Palpatine as Windu asserts his belief that Palpatine is up to no good. With massive hate, Palpatine unleashes a strong current of dark side lightning at Windu. With great skill, Windu deflects this lightning with his light saber. Here and now, Anakin is left with the most important decision of his life. Will Anakin save Windu from Palpatine or will Anakin strike down Windu and save Palpatine? Palpatine claims that the Jedi are corrupt and deceitful. Furthermore, Palpatine states that the Jedi themselves have always sought to undermine Anakin’s destiny. The choice is clear for Anakin. Anakin and Mace Windu engage in a very dramatic duel. If the time line is set apart like epI and epII, then Anakin will be almost 30, and will already be a Jedi Knight. So I'd say expect him to be bad arse. I think it will be Anakin and Mace. C'mon Anakin gave Dooku more of a fight than Obi-Wan did. I think in epIII Anakins power as a Jedi Knight will be well known throughout the order, and Mace, being the best duelist, goes to face Anakin. Well i'm looking forward to the fight of mace,So it must be Dooku or Anakiin, and I guess it will be Dooku, he is a very good fighter with the saber too, just like mace. but we do not know yet how strong Anakin will be. And about that Boba fights Vader, Boba will get his hiney(?) kicked. Boba almost no experience with Jedi or Sith. hasn't fight them in a long time. To reiterate my last comment below.... From an interview with Mace Windu.... "I guess I had to rehearse for 8 days before I actually shot it [his death scene], and learned a 137-move sabre fight. It was crazy." 137-move sabre fight. Hrm. Me thinks it is prolly not Boba, and it is definately not some cheap-ass shot to the back or saber-in-the-back. Realistically yes, Boba would get his little Mandalorian ass kicked. But maybe he's got something up his sleeve. Don't forget, Boba took on Vader bare-handed in the Enemy of the Empire series. One of the only reasons Mace took out Jango so easily is because his jetpack was damaged in the arena when he was nearly trapled by the Reek. If you watch the scene were Jango get's decapitated, you can see sparks coming from the jetpack as Mace gets closer, indicating that he was tring to fly the hell out of there. Nice. As for acting: I think Samuel is bad-ass period, and I've done over a decade of theatre. So there. Also, because of the way Lucas portrays his universe and sets his rules, including expanded universe mentions of Mace Windu, we get to see more of the myth than Jackson's performance. We all accepted Yoda was bad-ass (yes, admit it) before he duelled in EPISODE II. And he was like the coolest, peaceloving guy in the world. No, I think in Lucas' universe, status is paramount, and Mace has it. I personally think Mace is chilling, lying on the couch while his buddy Obi-Wan is eating something from "that Hawaian burger joint", until Boba Fett enters, shoots Mace while he's chilling, and deadpans: "Oh, I'm sorry, did I break your concentration?" |
