I will try to respond to your problems and questions as soon as possble. Sorry I cannot answer any Mac question I haven't touched a Mac in years.. Ok Here's a post with some usefull links. I will keep updating this as needed. If you don't know about this site and you are a Windows User you need to know about this. This site will patch your os with any of the bugs in any Windows OS. http://www.windowsupdate.com A good piece of software to have. This will scan your computer for any kind of spyware that any freeware or shareware program that you download and install. http://www.lavasoftusa.com or you can try spybot http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html *NOTE* Don't have both installed or they will say each other is spyware. I like spybot better. A good free anti-virus program.. If you don't have a anti-virus I recommend you do. http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_index.php This site is good for information on ISP's(Internet Service Providers). It alos has a great little toolset for testing your internet connection and the forums are helpful for tweaking your pc to get the most out of your connection. http://www.broadbandreports.com Do you have windows XP or 2000 and a great video card? Seem to be stuck at about 60FPS, even though you say like com_maxfps 120? Simple fix http://www.ryanmh.com/files/reforce.zip is a fix for a Windows Bug that locks your frame rate at 60 fps when you can get higher. All you do is unzip that run it, click auto populate, hit Apply and reboot and boom FPS allover the place _______________ When a Man lies he murder's some part of the world. Ulic it's funny you ask that cause I know a guy who's going to send me some info on certifications in computer tech. As soon as he sends the info to me I'll let you know. He says the test are easy if you know what you're doing and I guess they're cheap cause he's a cheap kind of guy. Makes his women pay for their dinners on dates. Anyway the certifications are just what you're looking for from what I understand their is no course to take unless you fail they'll tell you what you need to take to qualify for that certification. Maybe this is one for DJ but just how much better is FreeBSD? I have only 3 programs that were converted to Windows from Unix or Linux or whatever they were originally and I'm really happy with the way they operate. They have a few incompatibilities but there're nothing compared to the trouble I've gotten from programs written for Windows. I've visited the site for FreeBSD and it talks allot of jargon that's just a bit too deep for me and never really says what might make it better for people who are used to Windows. K i have a bit of a problem I recently bought a GeForce FX 5900 for my Pc. I have a Dell Dimension 8300. Wheni installed it i find out that i dont have enough power supply to run it properly so i decide to buy a new PSU 500wt now wt i want to know is if the PSU will be able to fit in my PC bc's im not sure if Dells make teh own PSU's. this would rlly help if u could tell me thx _______________ |

Hi, Orion I'd like your opinion on the following: I can't decide what version of Windows to put on my next computer I currently have Windows ME (Millenium) I like XP, but I'm afraid to use itsince a lot of programs aren't compatible with the XP version. Second, I also use a lot of programs like GtkRadiant for mapping, and I'm planning to start Skinning with Photoshop and I'm also starting to use C++ programs... Anyways, I'm not really sure what version I should get, hence my comment What advice can you give me? (btw, I'm not really sure, is JK2 compatible with XP?) Dunno about the Chipset *forwards that question to Orion* As for the (unnamed console broadband adapter) question, it all depends on whether you have 2 network cards in your computer. If you don't, you can go out, and buy a cheap 4 switch hub, and hook i t all up. Two things, I have a Via Integrated Chipset which is getting antiquitated, when I replace it (which might be soon) with what and how should it be done.
