Hi all, this is my first post and I thought I should make it one for discussion. So last night I was on the ffa server, and in a duel I tried out blue stance to see if it could hold up. I know that the damage quotient is fairly low for hits, but I also noticed that compared to the other dueler's red stance, I was landing way more hits. In the end I got a very lucky win by doing the lunge from crouch move, but I wonder if anyone else has an interest in it, now that duel and staff sabers have been thrown into the mix. Ok...I diidnt read any of the other posts....im really tired....but all this has prolly already been said. blue stance is cool if you are on speed and have a really good video card. lunge rocks.....does a whole crapload of damage in jk3. backstab is also a cool move, when you get to the point where you can know where you opponent is w/o having to see him. its the best stance for blocking guns as well. <---------  Sometimes. When not using Duals, anway. Blue normal swings can be VERY effective, if only for the fact that you can pull them off IMMEDIATELY as you see an opening. It is awesome for pacing. Though it doesn't do much damage (it takes an opponent a second to realize he's not hurt) you can launch a flurry to back someone up. If they are not cautious from the flurry, then the'll be cautious of the pending lunge or kanta. Because what crazy fool would use blue for common attacks? _______________ No matter where you go, there you are. |

blue's specials are very handy. the lunge and the backstab do good damage in jk2 an jk3. I hardly ever use any other swings in blue. I have found that all stances work in the right situation. I may start off in red then switch to yellow for a few moves, and dabble in blue for a few. The main advatage I have found in this is timing. Folks get use to the timing it takes when you swing only using red stance. If you switch stances a few times in a battle you can keep them guessing and throw them off balance. I know what you mean about Blue being useful when you first start duelling - I used it a lot too. The problem I found was that I'd manage lots of hits which did little real damage only to be caught with a couple of nice red slashes that finished me off. Blue's easy but not very effective and it has little or no defence. It's tempting to keep using Blue (or yellow) rather than investing time mastering the timing of a series of Red combos. Long term, tho, using all 3 well works best (or so I'm told - I'll still not too hot myself) _______________ There are few things easier than to live badly and die well. |

Ok, I'm still new at dueling but I find blue to be quite useful. The hits are quicker, not as much damage but more of them. The lunge is very useful. And the Kata; had to use it today, is the only one that seems to cover a 360 on it's own with out movement. Blue's definitely useful for Lunge but it's daft that this can be a duel winning move on its own, so I try not to use it unless I'm really struggling - there's no skill in winning with just one move (not that I have much anyway). Otherwise I like Blue for a couple of combos in a duel - keeps your opponent guessing what's coming next, at least a little bit. _______________ There are few things easier than to live badly and die well. |

Sup, Its still good in JK3 but not as good as in JK2, the sway (scissors) whatever. The game dmg is based on the amount of time the saber speed "inside" your oppents body (among other things) so when u sway if u do it fast enough your saber doesnt leave thier body. So instead of geting like 15 dmg per attack you do about 30. This does work about the same in JK3 the nice thing is that you can block or over power it with stonger stances. Actully it has 1 more advantige and it is with it's combos. When you do a scissor combo to counter certain specials like RDFA it would do 100 or more dammage with blue stance. This comment was edited by Lancer007 on Oct 11 2003 04:56pm. |

I don't know if it applies in JK3, but in JK2 I'd choose blue above the two other stances. It pwns, if you know how to use it. |

well it was very useful in jk2, but im not sure about jk3 since it still has bugs and stuff in it _______________ if at first you dont succeed, try and try again. if you still dont succeed, youve just wasted a whole lot of time trying something you just cant do

Blue stance has its Advantages and Disadvantages 1 advantage it has SPEED blue stance is the fastest stane out there 1 disadvantage it has is that it CANT block nething due to its quickness so gotta be careful on who u use it on 2 another good acdvantage it has is that its good for a counter liek if they do a rdfa or a ydfa u can counter with blue lunge kind aeffective so far the prob with blue stance in jk3 is that its nerfed lunge can due liek 100+dmg which it SHOULDNT do at all... until everything is patched we gonna have to deal with sum of these ups and downs _______________ Sister to Smily,Axion,and CT Friend to ALL...
