Jacen, it's true. If you're well known and spend a lot of time on the servers, your good deeds will get more recognition. Girls get a lot of attention, and tend to be approached by others. They are noticed more. LOL well there are multiple sides to everything. First, I made knight and I really didn't know anyone in the upper ranks. I still really wonder how I got a nom from Secura. Then there is sometimes the idea that just because someone is the way they are, they have an advantage. This process is biase but what isn't? I've been there and back again so I reackon I can answer this. From my experience, those actually aiming to get knighthood, making a big deal out of it, don't get picked cos they try too hard to get noticed and do the right thing. Don't feel down if you never make knight, some people just aren't meant for it. Don't take that the wrong way as you not being good enough for the rank, think of it more as the rank not being right for your character Thers a few reasons why people wanna make knight: Want respect Wanna get noticed Want some sort of 'reward' Want to help people, 'teach' Be a more valued member of the community I started off with good intentions, but (and I'll admit it) it did sorta go to my head. Now I'm back where I started I can concentrate on my main focus of why I came here in the first place: To teach people the ins and outs and be the best they can be (winning at any cost basically  )In short its a tough life and very difficult, its not all glory and fame. Everyone expecting stuff of you, everyone waiting for you to slip up, people sucking up to you. As some people are saying, yes, it could be as little as 2-5 months. Yet, I've been here about 10 months. It varies... But it shouldn't be your main goal. Worry about learning, you're constantly being watched. When/if the time comes, you'll know it. It took me about 4-5 months. Like it's been said, if all you want is a different little thing by your alias, then you're here for the wrong reasons. I wonder if people realise that being a Knight isn't a whole lot more advantageous than being a student? The old rank system was taken out because it didn't work in achieving our goal, which was to get people to learn the game. The ranks brought forth too much unhealthy competition among the students. Instead of focusing on learning the game, people focused on getting ranks. No use in that. Just because it says Jedi Knight under your name it doesn't mean you are worth more than others. Focus on training your skills and your knowledge of the force. Forget the rank. Harsh words, Achilles... if not forgive me... text can be difficult to interpret. I believe the status of Jedi Knight belongs to only 16 active members. That's very few people out of the hundreds that are members. I believe that being Knighted involves a test of character, personality, integrity, knowledge, friendships and many other factors. From what I understand, I wouldn't make being Knighted a goal to achieve in any short span of time. A while ago, there was a training system with titles similar to what you find in the game. This went away while I was away and I do not know what happened to it. I remember taking a trial about 10 months ago in JK2 for ummm, I think Intiate or something. I passed the trial and then I quit due to lag problems. I remember the trainers being swamped with Trial requests, so I imagine they stopped it because it was too much work, but again, I'm only guessing. When you are new to a game, it can be nice to get some feedback on how your skills are measuring up. I suggest seeking out a Knight and becoming a Padawan learner. They can and will measure your ability to wield a saber. They will also get you involved more tightly with the Academy and many Padawans have great reputations in this mini online community. If Knight is something you want to be, taking this route would be a good first step to understanding more about what it takes and you can get some feedback on how to play the game. _______________ Gone but hopefully not forgotten... Greetings .. not sure if your the Malak I met last night or not but becoming a Knight does not have a set time limit... its much deeper than that.
