They aren't actually illegal at the JA. We just really really hate them. I mean if you have it running silently and not posting those annoying messages all the time there's not much wrong with them. The problem is that most people don't shut off those messages. And they're annoying and disrespectful. Even the loading of it is annoying. Which is why they aren't tolerated. Whatever exploit they have as Obi said has never been used on me, and if they were allowed in the JA i highly doubt anyone would do it. I don't wanna use a Killtracker for bragging or anything. As it is, when I'm on publics I silence mine completely, it's just fun to look at stats. Not that I disagree that some of the DEFAULT sayings in Kill Tracker are offensive. BUT, they ARE customizable. You can either change them or NOT have a certain message play by leavung it blank. Now I'd like to point out a flaw or exploit that was either missed or, left in it, by the autor of the program. When running KT and leaving the messages active, someone else other than YOU can minimize your game. By using the target_say command someone else can !mini your game and use all the other commands on you. I have had this done to me and now dont use the KT on any server but my own. So you run the risk when you use it. I like a previous suggestion, GET MULTI-MEDIA keybord. Less risk of getting lamed. Obi Wuz Here |

I'd just use Winamp or Windows Media player, I don't use big screen, so it's no trouble to just switch songs now and then. i think it's the default nature of the killtracker's announcements to be rude, annoying, and boastful that kind of go against the very principles of the academy. get rid of that problem and i don't think ya have a problem _______________ this is the internet, be serious damn it! |

Well then, A Kill Tracker IS allowed by the rules due to a loophole. I aggree with the previous comment, the winamp part is very useful and is why i use it. A script that shoud be banned is one that alters the play of the game, are u gonna tell me that chatting and having winamp in the background alters the gameplay. If you turn off the comments thing (which could be really annoying) then wouldn't it be a good thing? A killtracker is a script based program (hence the forbidden thingy in the JA since they dont allow scripts) It holds the count of your kills, deaths, duel wins and losses. Also it can keep track of any person you fought and you can also request the amount of time you killed that person. Killtracker is also used as a winamp plugin so you can control winamp with that program while you are in the game by using a command which is typed in the chatboxes. You cah have your killtracker display messages every time you win a duel, kick someone to death, and kill someone with the force. Also when you engage duels you can have it display messages and when you win or lose. Hey great, another question I once made on this forum A killtracker is something really annoying It counts your kills and is illegal to use at the JA, I believe (but I'm not sure of that) It doesn't only count your kills, it also says something really annoying every time you win in a duel You're better off NOT using a killtracker, believe me Ever heard of Ashley? The banned blond girl? well.. one of the reasons she was banned, is because she used a killtracker, or so I read So, you're better off not using one If you have any further questions about this programs, ask someone else though, my knowledge of these things isn't very big _______________ Visit the Belouve Family Website!
