I don't think you should, it'll only bring on more laming and problems as people will camp @ the ships, and accidentally bludgeon people etc.

there won't be any flying vehicles in this map. at least, we haven't made any plans to do so.

Will the sky go up far enough for ships to fly(like the X-wing J in SP) outside the main building? If so you might want to put a shield over the courtyard. Just my $.02:alliance:

if you add a icy plains thing you should have TAUN TAUN's!!!! also there should be a cave with a :eek: wampa :eek: that cant get out of the cave (but you can via force jump!)

OK, I'm a MUCH better artist than this but i made some quick drafts of a building I had an idea for.
I didn't work of of any scale, just by sight. I'll have more scale in my sketches. I hope you might be able to get some ideas from it. I'll probably start on the more detailed sketchs tonight.

I recorded a video showcasing parts of the map, for those that might not have the map/JK3.

Sent it of to DJ Sith, he MAY put it up. There were indications of such, but again, it is THEIR site, not mine. But if anyone of the team might like it, I have it down to 8MB. Just e-mail me.

Aye, I'd like a courtyard that when you enter it. You just wanna sit a meditate in the beauty. Trees, vines, statues, stone walkways, maybe a huge cliff face with a Jedi carved into it. Rooms that seem to be lit only by fire light. Ancient Jedi carvings. Possibly a room just for the counsil and knights, for meetings and such. And have a pillar or something for each knight or counsil member. A map that a stranger could come into and say "DAMN!!!"

dopp, that courtyard was thrown together at the very last minute, right before the release of the beta. so no fear people, the courtyard will get much, MUCH better.

other than that, we really appreciate everyone's comments and we will do our best to take everyone's suggestions into consideration.

God I hate to be a critic especially with people I admire but here it goes. The overall layout plans are great however the map known as "beta 1" looks as good as a stick figure. I realize you're not done yet but it looks as though you've settled for hang man when you could have made a 3D game. The new version of Radiant is capable of allot more than what you have. There needs to be detail! More than just trees and pillars. I'm talking about putting the Vis engine through hell! Trust me it can take it. Make the courtyard look like a jungle if you have to but give it landscape and garden walls and maybe a water fountain. The rooms are great. Noob is right you've got a problem with the windows in the hall showing rooms past the skybox in the ceiling. I like the pillars but please change that texture from stone to something smooth and not so busy. I love the glass room that's really neat. Spawn area needs to change as everyone says it sux. The only reason I complain about the courtyard being drab is because it's nice to have your vision blocked by something if not many many things. Keeps you on your toes and paranoid when dueling and gun fighting outside. Like I said I realize you haven't added detail yet but I can see where things are going already and it looks like everyone else's outside maps. Drab!

Yeah. Vehicles: If you have them, add a Sith Speeder. The model is great.

Also, I agree with not having a spawn point in the gun area. Great for FFA, but spawning under fire is not the best idea. WE already got a lot of stray shot things, and people got quite irked.

Also, maybe from the courtyard, I noticed there is a door to the left, right, and center. Above each door, you could place 3 simple symbols to denote what is there, like...

[PILLAR] [MATRIX] [CAGE]

Then, you don't get AS confused.

First of all, the skybox should be raised quite a bit, especially once ships are flying around. An invisible barrier can be put over individual areas so that the regions can be caulked away from each other.

The pillar room pit should either be made into a death trigger, or changed to look less like a pit of death.

Animal vehicles should be kept in a pen away from the ships.

Don't forget to have a zoo area for training against animals.

hm...In my opinion guns should be much much closer together. hm...a few targets wouldn't hurt Btw, In the room where you jump up the planks...You can jump on one of the slanted edges of the side walls and walk along that.
(I know these are issues of lesser importance).

Edit: It's possible to run along the sides of all walls

I love it, very nice :) I did notice a few things on my quick run around the map. When you look through the windows in the ceiling in the corridors between areas, the building textures you are looking at appear and disappear. The outside gun area is finally bigger than JAv4 map woohoo. I did notice that if you lob a repeater energy ball into the air, it disappears way too early and never returns to the ground. I'd love to see a large open area like that with some speeder bikes for siege practice and fun. Maybe add another area for just speeders? That would just rock. A few earth mounds or something in the very wide open gun area would be cool as well.

Just had a thought... what if you put a circular track around the whole complex instead for speeders or any other vehicles that may get dreamed up in the future. We could race or shoot or whatever like a chariot arena. We could also use it to move from one end of the complex to the other in a hurry.

I noticed that you can spawn in the gun area. This is not a good idea if an FFA is in progress in this room. Someone is going to get killed, get pissed and scream lamer if they get hit with a stray shot.
