I'll say the same thing I said in the thread on star wars discussion this guy made about it. I hope it doesn't. If it does come anyone hoping that he'll just take what is in the expanded universe is delusional. Even thinking it will be set at a point after the current EU timeline probably wouldn't happen. He would more than likely make his own crappy kiddy movies again and stomp on 90% of what is considered Expanded Universe "canon". Just disappointing more fans than the lukewarm response some have given to the prequels. Look now, people are dreading Episode 3 for fear of it being bad. What if it is and he decides to continue it on? You'll just have more dread for the next set of movies coming along. Or What if Episode 3 is great and he makes Episode 7 and it completely sucks? Leave it at 6 and don't continue it on. Enjoy the books, they're written better than any script George Lucas could come up with now. I can't live without SW I would prefer if they made films away form the Luke, Leia etc. Some of my favourite books are the X-wings series as you have new characters and unsure who's good bad. The books (endorsed by Lucas) Pretty much cover the next 30years after SW so I'm not sure where he would go. I think EP7 would suck, since the original trilogy actors will be replaced by others since the old ones are too old, don't want to play in another Star Wars movie, etc. |
