Me and Lord Freedon Nadd have developed a plan to start a community for Star Wars Galaxies, the MMORPG. In the game, you can build a city of your own with friends. We'd like to do this with people from the Academy.
The idea is to make a town in which we are all equal. We share most of the money and gadgets that we earn. Speeders and all that sort of things can be used by anyone. There would be a few leaders (Freedon and I volunteer  ), not neccesarily the Academy leaders. Later on in the game, when the expansion comes out, we could start a fighter squad and join the rebels. These are all just ideas of course.

A friend of mine and I had a similar idea, he beta tests mmorpgs and im a veteran of eq. I didn't know you could build a city of your own but we were thinking about taking the first 6-9 months (how long it takes before the expansion comes out) to make characters in order to "unlock" the jedi class, once we figure out how to do so only share it with certain people.
The storyline of SWG is set so that vader and the emporer already exist but there are little to no jedi, with the said plan we wanted to recreat the Jedi council and academy to teach people how to unlock and become jedi. Of course it would take great time and effort but an organized group of jedi in SWG would be a deadly force. |

Is SMG on PC? I only saw it for XBox...anyway, yeah, i guess that'd be a good idea, except I'd have a to blow an additional 70 bucks or whatever on the game, then get used to it, then finally find you guys and join up. I've read this :10.07 Will there be player-run cities in the game?
Yes but not at initial launch. Eventually, if enough players colonize a portion of the map, they will be able to declare themselves to be a city, elect city officials, decide what powers officials can have, and determine local laws and factional alignment. This is an important feature to us, we will have it in test when the game releases so hopefully it will be available for an update when players are ready to start making towns. |

Kueller, u don't have to tell me anything about Holland  . But, I think creditcards are more and more used here, my dad has got 2 of them and the dads of my friends got them too...

Problem is, there is noone in the whole family with credit cards, Holland is a country where credit cards are still not widely used. I gave up for the beta for SWG. Yes, cities are not in launch, but Player Associations are and will need a headquarters. Vehicles aren't in too, but they're probably in by the time you have enough money to buy one. I had the idea to make a Galaxies Academy site, but I think I lack the skills to make a good PHP site like this one, so if anyone could help me... I do have some site making skills, HTML and Flash. I'm in. Acidic is an avid fan, so he'll probably want to get in too.
And on the town issue, you can't 'make' towns for now. They excluded that feature from the release version, it will be included in a patch. You can form PA's, but for now no towns with politicians, mayors, etc. Only random buildings. We could for a headquarters, no problem with that. This all to say that if you need any more players, or don't mind a guy that talks a lot, I'm here. Bounty hunting/politician all the way! _______________ Can you protect me from yourself? |

Just so you know, player created cities won't be available in the game at launch. You will have to wait awhile until they add it through patches later on. |

Most of these MMORPG's are around 12 Euro. I expect the same price for SWG. I really think we should try to work together once we start playing. I checked it out, you can share money and all. I also heard something abouta monthly subscription fee?! So you shell out money for the game AND pay monthly to play it? Sounds a bit harsh to me. I own my own house and have little enough money as it is. I'm only 22 for gods sake! |

Ah the server... it's not sure if there will be EU servers Propably not.
BUT You dont have to care for lag. As you dont really shoot, means you just tell your avatar to shoot and if you hit or not is determinded by your sills etc, lag doesnt count as much as in JK2. I heared some 1337s saying it's possible to play with 300+ ping
And the EUs will propably get an US server, but inofficial. Means the whole community will go there, but it's still located in the USA. AND it's gonna be expensive! 15 €? Dont know, something like that _______________ Aeth S'kray *June 2002 +September 2003 |

-------------- oh, SWG will be pretty expensive, i guess. they dont want to talk about yet, that shows everything.. -------------- Not necessarily. I look at it like this: There are two grocery stores around where I live, Giant Eagle and Shop 'N Save. If Giant Eagle is going to have a sale April 15th, they don't write up the coupons for that day 2 or more months in advance. This would give Shop 'N Save a chance to match their prices. Instead, Giant Eagle would wait until a week or so in advance to make it next to impossible for Shop 'N Save to have the same sales at the same time. Sounds good to me, i'm not sure how much it sgonna be either but i am definately getting it!! I am just woried about possible lag on the US serevr. I herad that there were gonna be separate servers for US, EU, Asia and Austrailia. But that was a while ago. |

and about jedi: there is a (secret) way to become a jedi. it will be for hardcore gamers only. one question was: how many guys out of 100 people will become a jedi after 3 months. answer: none. lol. they expect the first jedi after one year. ONE YEAR DUDES! argh! P.S. I'm soon gonna be a member of the Church of Lumba! we provide you with the amazing Lumbanol, an fuddeling home made drink. you can rest in our monastery for a knight and receive services. we offer heal, food, pets and herbs. my task will propably the one of a ranger. i will walk through the woods, hunt and tame animals with my sword, collect some weed and protect pretty girls from womprats
