note: The com_hunkmegs command cant be set in the console. It needs to be set in the target line of the properties window for jamp.exe. ex: "C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy\JediAcademy.exe" + set com_hunkmegs 512 _______________ I know whats been troubling you...... |

My ping is 400+  I always get "connection Interrupted". Is that what i'm supoosed to get? Or maybe the high ping is not my problem? Please help. I really wanna play! _______________  Just Blabbing on about anything coz my connection is too slow for me to play

I don't know if this will help anyone or not, but it always helps my speed and ping. If you have a dsl or cable modem go to http://www.dslreports.com/ and do the SPEED TEST & TWEAK TEST. The tweak test being the most important(make sure you turn your firewall OFF). After you run the tweak test read the results and follow their instructions. Yeah, it was. And I got it fixed. But now my ping is around 20-30, which seems to be low, compared to most of the others I've seen. _______________ Surrender or die. |

I would have thought you'd get a good ping from your location, but maybe your route takes you up and down the USA before it reaches the server. These options won't affect your ping too much, and just by around 50 maybe at the maximum. Anyway, I've seen people with nearly 500 ping play on the JA servers. Unless it's a lot higher than 101, I doubt it's a problem with your ping exactly, but more something else. |

Ok, forget my last, it was vid synced after all, thought i had turned it off but it must have reset when i restarted or something, *hangs head and averts gaze in embarresment*, neway, running at 120+ now, thanks 4 that Ohh, Sete, 60fps fine, UNLESS U SPEND 2.5 GRAND (Aus) ON A SYSTEM, INCLUDING 600$ ON VID CARD, then u sort off xpect the best posible performance. -unsynced frame rat from refresh rate, didnt help -com_maxfps set to 120, dosnt help -got refreah rate set to 75 with vid_restart, didnt help STILL STUCK AT 60 FPS I know my machine SHOULD chew JKJA up including all the graphical bones, even the big ones (it maxes HL2 ffs) but for some, presumably setting related, reason I'M STILL STUCK AT 60 FPS If there is anything else you can think that mite help, PLEASE post it. thanks in advance  _______________ "Cogito Ergo Sum" Are You?"Rene Descartes" "Learning without thought brings ensnarement. I agree, it doesn't "seem" to work, but I did it anyway, and it did help to bring the fps up considerably. Checked your video options to see if refresh rate is synced with monitor? It shouldn't be. Also check if you're running with a com_maxfps under 120. Instead of regular restart, try doing /vid_restart when it tells you to reboot the game. Really, I have no idea why you'd wanna save FPS with that machine, just go for effects... it should be well good enough to get a constant 120. |

Pleses helpses meses, I set all the ping cmnds, dont no if they actually helped, the pingometer looks better but the ping itself isnt??, Morti<--PC dummy Now fps stuk @ 58-60 (was 95ish). Tried setting r_displayRefresh to 75 (highest 4 1024/768 on an Hyundai Q17) after entering cmnd it said would take effect upon restart, it didnt. Last I tried com_hunkmegs, seeing as I have 2 Gb to play with, but it didnt even recognise the cmnd This my last hope, if no help here then /amsurrender, Give Up, Put UP, Shut Up /amPWND Ps. dont no if u need to no this but if it helps, I have a P4 3.4, 2 Gb DDR RAM, GeForce 6800 GT, Hyundai Q17 LCD, 1.5Mb/256Kb ADSL and running XP Pro  using MS,but dont no linuxPPs.
