I'm not sure how comfortable everyone is with talking about this subject. So, before I post any opinions, is everyone cool with discussing this? It's quite an issue here in the US right now. In the past, we've been able to discuss controvertial subjects without it getting out of hand. OK, Here is my opinion, and don't eat me for this: I am a Christian. The Bible does say it is immoral and wrong. In fact, not only is is sinning against God, but sinning against your own body. I believe the only reason gays are attracted to each other, is demonic influence. They may say: 'We love each other!', but it is truly a sin as much as adultry, prostitution, and sex before marrage. Though, I cannot stop people from doing so, just like I cannot stop people from doing any other sin. They have free will to do whatever they want, but in the end they will face their consiquence for it. So, our Government can make it legal, but if they choose to allow this perversion to go on, then that it they're dilema. I am not of voting age, so I can't really do anything about it. Here is my view on gay marriages: They are perfectly fine with me. Sure, my Catholic side is screaming at me "ITS AGAINST THE BIBLE", but my Atheist side (i have dual personalities when it comes to religion, for some strange reason) says "If they want to get married, let them." Religion and politics mix as about as well as oil and water mix. They just don't. Leave the religion out of it. EDIT: I agree with JJ. Marriage is for 2 people who are in love with each other, and are ready to commit their lives to each other. Damn, I wish I were religious, then I would have an answer for everything  Gay marriage is legal here in the Netherlands, as is using softdrugs, abortion and prostitution.Personally, I think marriage is just a weird thing, but maybe I'm too young to understand I guess some people need something to confirm their love and remind them of it later on in their relationship. I think this gift slash pain should be open to everybody.I guess it's easier for people in Holland to accept these kind of things because were are not as religous as the people in the USA are. Or at least, that is what I gather from you guys here ("My religion forbids it" and American politicians saying it has something to do with God.I don't know if people realize it, but saying "If it can't have babies - it's wrong" doesn't make any sense. It is just not a valid argument in this discussion. But I guess it all adds up to a 'God created this world' vs. 'There is no God' argument, which is unsolvable unless either side accepts the others truth and tries to think from there. So, I'm going to try that. I have no huge bible knowledge, but if God created everybody, then he must have created gay people as well. Probably for a reason. Have people who have feelings for the same sex dropped in from hell? |

JamesF1 - not everybody is Christian. Marriage isn't about politics, and not every couple in the world have kids. Marriage is about love. I suppose women who, for whatever reason, can't have kids aren't allowed to get married either? Marriage is about love, and if two people of the same gender are in love, there should be nothing to stop them. All this crap is nothing but homophobic bullshit. All this does is encourage gay people to be ashamed of their sexual preferences. |

I personally don't have a problem with discussing it here. Concerning our younger members I'm not sure what your problem is Cuzza. It's not that we are talking about explicit sexual contents.
