The recently departed La Magra asked the Council to post this email from him, so here it is: "hey, I don't know where to start but as some of you might know allready I've recently been banned from the JA. I am taking full responsibility for the ban, because I believe that the council took the right decision. I'd like to apologize to the ppl I've hurt with my actions. I'd never ment to hurt any of you. But the truth is that I did hurt some of you and I deserve to be punished so I am accepting this ban without further fight. I'd also like to say, alltho it is unlikely, but if the council should decide to lift my ban, I'll probably never return to the JA. The JA has been a part of my life for more than a year and a half and I loved every moment here. But I won't return for one reason. Missing the JA is a constant reminder of what I've done wrong, it will remind me of whats wrong with my personality and for those that I've and other, I promise that I'll never let it get this far ever again. I don't blame anyone for looking at me differently or being disgusted with me cause quite frankly I am disgusted with myself at the moment. I've hurt some ppl that I care very much about and thats absolutly untolarable. I also like to mention that from this moment I won't message any JA member ever again, unless they make it clear to me that they still want to keep in contact with me (which I am hoping that few of the good friends I made here will do, and that they will forgive me for what I've done). Thats all I wanted to say. For whats its worth, I truly am sorry about my actions. In light of what happens every single time a post like this is put up, I think it might have been better to just put up the post and not allow replies. It just turns into a 'freedom of speech' debate WITHOUT FAIL. It's completely pointless - there is NO such thing as freedom of speech. I agree with Darthy on this. But I also understand why people are frustrated. I bet the JACs knew that asking for the blind trust of the students on this matter would lead to such reactions. If you like Maggy then keep in touch with him. What's been done has been done. He won't return even if he had a chance to. HE wrote it himself. Now please let this thread die, it was purely informative and not something to discuss about. And again, if you like Maggy, keep in touch with him, don't fight over his ban in here, it's useless. And please people, try to keep your calm and not lose your temper. We are civilized people, we are brothers and sisters and this is why this matter is so painful for the JA. Could we please stop repeating the same thing over and over here. All I see is Students saying things as like: Magra shouldn't been banned and Admins reply to that with: You don't know all the facts and have faith in the Council's decissions. I thought this post was made so we could read La Magra's apology, not to make people react there frustration out on each other. surely ppl can trust the JAC on this, its unlikly they'd ban someone without a VERY good reason, stating yor opinion is all veyr well and good, but opinions do still need facts. we know magra did something wrong, we dont know what, considering how this topic shows how he was liked, there must be a VERY good reason. theres a difference between an opinion and just being bull headed _______________ "Stop acting like little girls and learn to suck up to the mods like normal people" Remind me to kill my parents for loss of JA for so long. |

well it's somewhat hard to find out what magra did JJ... No-one will give any info. Yeah sexual harassment. We harass Aratan all day on IRC... So it must have been something really worse. IMHO opinions should be welcome. Judging is part of one's opinion. Offensive judging isn't really welcome though. Freedom of speech? How's this... Alright, so basically what Rogue said is that we shouldn't have banned La Magra, but instead helped him. That's like having someone move a chair under your ass so you can sit down. You take a problem away from the people, you don't rearrange the people for the convenience of a problem. La Magra was an awesome guy, but he did unforgivable things. Before you open your mouths, try and find out about what you're talking about first. I know that before I found out the reason of La Magra's banning, I thought he should have been demoted, and not banned. However, when I found out reasons, I was in full support of the Council's decision. If you don't have faith in the JA's staff, then there are plenty of other places to go. Your opinions are fine with me, I just don't think you should be so quick to judge the JA staff's and it's decisions, ESPECIALLY when you, frankly, don't know what you're talking about. |

Jumpin, Aron. I disagree. Certainly, I would be the first to condemn the actions of any person that would be offensive. Additionally, I acknoledge that I do not have all the facts regarding the ban of La Migra, but what you both just said goes too far. An opinion is nothing unless it is accompanied by the freedom to express it. Certainly, we all have a responsibility to express our opinions in a constructive manner, and in a respectful manner, but when we disagree with the actions of others (including the Council) we must be safe in the knowledge that we will be free to state such opinions and seek redress. Progress is a slow thing, and we can only hamper our own growth and development by oppressing contrary views. _______________ I must not fear . Fear is the mind-killer. There is a difference between an opinion and a flame. I don't care if you like to express your feelings, and that you might be sad with him leaving. I can very well understand that. Just don't make posts like "BANNING HIM WAS WRONG", "IF I WERE A JAC..."... No offense, but that is no opinion. It is called BS. Please don't take that personal. MAYBE YOU SHOULD LEARN THE DEFINITION OF THE WORD OPINION. Everyone is entitled to their own, it is their God given right. I dont know anything about this. I just want to remind you that alot of people wouldnt be who they are today without Magra. IN MY OPINION I think banning him was the wrong thing to do. Well... I just want to say I really liked mr Maggi To me he always was most kind and he learned me loads of stuff...I don't know what he's done, nor why. But if I judge on what I have seen of him it is a big loss to the Jedi Academy. I also find it rather strange that I'm seeing this in the Jedi Academy forum instead on the news posts, but I'll ques there'll be a reason for it...
