What do you think peoples reactions would be to bullets in the SW Universe? Jedi's would be defenseless against a bullet(imagine a jedi deflecting a 50cal round lol You could probably have 3 bullets hit a someone by the time 1 laser hit someone.(now guys this is on planets or ships where there is gravity) _______________ Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny, consume you it will... You can see the lasers. UHm, Maybe I'm wrong here, but if you'd try to stop those metallic bullets, wouldn't they just melt and go through your saber as molten blobs of super-hot metal. Now THAT wouldn't be fun for the jEdi in question. The reason the laser bolts in Star Wars went so slow is because it's better to film that way and do special stuff with it like deflecting. The Battledroids going through the shield generators... That's easy: Those shields are merely energy shields. They will only block energy attacks. In Star Wars there are also particle shields. These are the shields that block Proton Torpedo's and Concussion Missiles, and the type of shield that kept them from attacking the second Deathstar. A projectile weapon wouldn't work any better against a jedi I think. The bullets would be matter and Jedi could probably anticipate them even easier than a blaster bolt. Think Neo in the matrix dodging and stopping the bullets. You have no clue how much The Force can enhance the speed of the jedi along with their foresight. And the Lightsaber would likely incinerate any additional bullets. And if you guys didn't know the imperial repeater is a machine gun. First of all, if I wanted authority over you in an online community, I wouldn't have stepped down, now would I have? Secondly, calm down and understand the point of what I said. In retaliation to what I posted in regards to the thread topic, you decided to be sarcastic with me. Not very respectful yourself, are you? Thirdly, you're right, if you want to be respected, don't disrespect. Next time be a little careful of how you word things, and it won't be taken the wrong way. If perhaps you did not mean to come up with something as sarcastic, then my sincerest apologies to you there. I still, however, hold onto what I said, be careful of how you word things. Now isn't the time to be argueing, so may we pass by it Ancient? Maybe I should have stated more peacefully that I didn't appreciate sarcasm, but in the mood I was in, I didn't know how I could do that, so sorry once again. Guess that concludes this whole thread, doesn't it? EDIT: Reason I put that line in bold was so you didn't miss it, as I felt that was the most important part of what I have to say. EDIT #2: I had a question for you Ancient, now that I remember it and you seem to have wide knowledge on physics: A sniper in JK2 and JKA is the ideal example of a laser you said. From what I also know a laser is basically an endless beam of energy (until it makes contact with something it can't penatrate of course). Would there ever be a way to set a range for the laser? Imagine a bullet going through a lightsaber blade. It'd just be destroyed. So, no deflection, but definant defense. Also, think about shields. In Episode 1, you see Battledroids walk right through a shield barrier. Would work the same for bullets, right? |

cant tell how fast a bullet will compare to a laser gun since it doesnt exist (and i mean a laser gun not some kooky laser machine). actually i think the real question is: If bullets travel faster then lasers then why are they using laser guns? sure the damage is good with the laser, but it looks as if you can sidestep out of the way of it. Nop, this doesnt make sense....since laser cant be release in a bullet form....in my observation, those red laser should not be lasers, since "laser should be in a speed of light", and they should be a packet of "energy wave" that DONT have the speed of light, if you wanna more information of the properties of wave, study physics P.S. Luke, do you know that bullet got a min speed of 500 m/s?? It is alot alot faster than the laser bot... just think about this: speed of sound only got 380m/s, and some gun even got a speed of 700m/s.
