This was brought up in another post.
How many people would want to use Voice Com while playing? Ppl can be silenced on the voicecomm, or simply unplug the microphone. Our clan uses teamspeak for this, and it works flawlessly even if we've got high pings to each other. |

How many people at the Academy are interested in using voice? I think it would be absolutely perfect for classes! It becomes difficult and tedious to go through lectures while trying to give examples, etc etc. Unfortunately, I think in the case of classes, students would have to keep quiet, so as not to interrupt. Maybe they could continue simply typing questions?
What does everyone think of that? I think I may need to buy a mic.. lol |

if we would do it, we should use roger wilco 
it doesnt take much system resources or bandwith, so maybe it could be set up on the KS server or something |

I'm definately up for a trial voice class. What software do you think would be best?
I used to use Roger Wilco for Delta Force 2, it worked really well. I already have a microphone, and the software is free. What's not to like?

I made some attempts to run a Gamevoice server while playing but peeps never got in to it.
The only actual class where we used it was on the last Knights class. And I made most of the talking. I also used Roger Wilco with Acidic some times, great fun. I have been using Battlecom for 3 years in mechwarrior 4 league play and I honestly think the bandwith it uses is negligible. Back when people started using it you could tell which teams had it and which teams didn't. No voice coms = no teamwork(unless we're talkin 2 vs 2)
www.battlecom.org It helps to have someone run the dedicated server(maybe run a BC server right on the classroom server? you can make channels so that different classes don't have to listen to eachother) |

I'd have no problem for it when i hold some german classes. Or you can all take a crash course in german and i'd be happy to use any voice chat. No seriously i think it's a rather good idea, if your bandwidh can support it and all use it. If there is one guy in the class without voice thingy he won't do any good there. _______________ Falling from heaven is not as painfull, as surviving the impact. |
