Well, I guess this is the official note... I'm leaving... more or less permanently...
I'm staying on as a student ( as you can see )in the event I ever feel the need to get on the servers... but I doubt that, that's one of the main reasons I'm leaving, playing is like a chore when you have 12FPS from having 18 people playing at once. There are various other reasons that I won't get into. The official reason you can tell you grandkids is that Datheus left because of computer troubles... I'm leaving because not only does my computer bites the big one (I've tried the force model, didn't help), but because I've lost my passion for JK2, I still like the game, I just don't play as much as I used to... maybe only once every week or two, and that's just not enough.
As a trainer, I felt it was my obligation to step down as I wasn't doing my job anymore... I was out of practice and was losing skill. While skill isn't neccisarily required to be a trainer, it's somewhat embarrasing to teach your class something, try to demonstrate it and not even be able to recreate you instruction... Maybe if I feel a rebirth for JK2, I'll consider becoming seriously involved again, specifically if an expansion pack comes out... I'll try to continue to play an active role on the forums and on IRC; I've been here too long to simply roll over and quietly die! I may stop by the servers once in a month or so, during the late hours when my computer is able to handle it... Until then... This comment was edited by Datheus on Feb 24 2003 02:49pm. |

Have you ever tried turning on "force player models" in the game options menu? It forces all player models to look like your model which GREATLY improves frame rate if you are using one of the models that came with the game.
