Welcome to the academy! If you're reading this, chances are you're new. You've found the best place possible to learn every aspect of the game Jedi Knight:Jedi Academy (JK3 or JA)

www.thejediacademy.net (or the Academy as we like to call it) has a few private servers. There are 10 servers all up, 4 for the game Jedi Academy:Jedi Outcast (JK2 or JO), 5 for JA and one running TeamSpeak. The servers that start with [ja] are for JO, and the ones which start with jk3 are for JA.

I'm going to demonstrate how to log in to the jk3-home server, as this is the one most people use. Firstly, you need to ensure that the JA cd is in the CD Drive. When the start screen comes up, press "multiplayer".

Figure one shows the first in-game screen. To start, click on 'Play'.

Then when the next screen comes up, click on 'Join a game' as shown in Figure 2.

In the next screen, you will need to tell the game where to look for the server. To do this, in the top right hand box, click on 'Source' till Favorites appears as shown in figure 3. Next, on the bottom of the screen, click on 'New Favourite' (figure 4) This will bring up the IP address box (fig. 5). In this box, type in the IP address of the server you're looking for. Don't forget the port number (the bit after the colon) otherwise you might not be able to connect to the right server.

Where can I find the IP address of the server??
Good question. First, make sure you're registered and logged in to the website. Then navigate to the servers page. Click on the name of the server you want to join.

The server information page should then come up. As an example, I've used the jk3-home server page. The IP address and the password have been ringed (in figure 6). These you may need to write down if your run JA in fullscreen mode. Note the Mods/Extras box, ringed in fig 7. You will need some of these before the server will let you join. It's a good idea to download them all, though, if you can do so.

Once you've typed in the IP address and port number, you will need to click the 'Get New List' (fig 8). The server should then appear in the main window. (fig 9) Notice the lock symbol, which I've ringed. This indicates that the server is passworded. When you click on the server, a password box will pop up.(fig 10) Type in the password you found on the server information screen. Make sure you type it EXACTLY the same as on the server info screen - don't mix the letters and numbers up!

If you've done it all correctly, you should see the server loading screen, and then you'll be in the game! Welcome to the Academy!!
