4.6.3.1: Specific Moves -Mune - Nov 10 03:34am | |||||||||||||
Please note: This article was composed by: PlooKoon and Sfire. The Kata: This move has a lot of problems; when starting the move, the player stand still while the sabers swing around and then the player slowly stands up, making the recovery. So, as you can see, this move can be easily countered by moves like the lunge. The best time to use this move is when you are playing something, such as Siege, and want to do some damage to a door etc. Otherwise it looks pretty, but you're probably going to be dead soon. If you do use it, make sure you're accurate because this move can easily backfire. The Flurry: Once again, here's another move move that has a couple of problems: you stay in one position and your lower back is open, which is easily countered by a roll stab. It is not a good idea to use in duels or during an FFA, but like the kata, it's best used for applying a lot of damage on doors in the siege game mode. Dual Butterfly: This move is probably the most used special in duels and FFA’s. The good parts of it are that it's very fast and you do not stay in one place. It features a small recovery time and, if it hits, it deals a lot of damage. It's best used when the opponent is at a reasonable distance, not too far and not too close, so it can surprise them and get a nice hit. The Buzzsaw: Basic attack move. It is very useful to get in between spins and other moves. It's good to use in almost any situation. Horizontal Scissors: Similar use as the buzzsaw but not as controlled. The horizontal scissors can be a very deadly move. If you don't time it right, then you will only achieve a couple of swings, whereas if you do it correctly, then you will get several. It's just a timing issue that everyone encounters at first. Just keep working on it and it will come. You will notice that the time you hold left and right isn't very long. Once you see how effective this move is, you will want to do it more. However, that necessarily isn't good. I suggest when you do this move, that you move in, do about 2-4 swings then jump out. Stay there too long and you can get hurt badly. Alright, one last thing I would like to show you about horizontal scissors. That is doing them while in a crouch position. It's the same exact move as the horizontal scissors only add a crouch to it. Doing this will leave less target space for your opponent. But once again, don't stay in that move too long. Advancing Scissors: Good move to push back your opponent but not a good idea to use against your opponent's swings, due to its slowness and the swings are not very controlled and are easily knocked back. Defence: Nice to use when your in a tight spot and cannot move, and may be a tactical move to use. Defensive mode isn't so much a move. It's more of a protection thing. It is used for when you are in trouble. Say someone is charging you and you can't get out of the way, this would be time for defensive mode. This will block most swings, however, some may still get through. Just make sure when doing this, your opponent is always in front of you. There is something I would like to add to this. That is swinging while in defensive mode. Say someone charging in hard is almost on top of you. A few uppercut swings will definetly do the trick and make him think twice. Executing this move, isn't too hard but pay close attention. While moving backwards in a crouch position, add swings to it but continue to hold down the first 2 buttons. Now, along with holding down swing, move in a direction (left or right). So all together you should be pressing left (or right), back, swing, and holding crouch. To do a few swings, rotate from left to right, right after eachother. If this was confusing to you, please see one of us (PlooKoon / Sfire) or MOTREC or one of his padawans. I hope you enjoyed reading Dual Sabers Lightsaber use. If you wish to advance further in Duals, a student or JAK+ dual user would be happy to help. |

If you time it right, and change to the Blue stance at the end of the Dual Butterfly, then press Crouch+Forward+attack, and hold it, just as the Butterfly ends, it'll make you do a quick singly spin followed by a Lunge. It can be highly effective... hehe, trust me on that ^^ _______________ It takes courage to grow up, and become who you really are. "The whole secret of existence is to have no fear.
