Good to hear you've settled back in. Being sick isnt good. meh. Yes, you looked so abso-friggen-lutely content when you ate that thing.
It's called a "Straube". Pretty common in this parts of Austria. Heres what a quick google search yielded: Quote: Schilcherstrauben Schilcherstrauben: Strauben ist eine typisch steirische Mehlspeise, die aber in Slowenien und in Istrien (Krostule) ebenfalls bekannt ist. Zubereitung. Einen Teig kneten aus 250 g Mehl (glatt), 2 Dotter, 1 Ei, Prise Salz, 1 EL Staubzucker, etwas Vanillezucker, Schuss Rum, 1 EL Süßrahm und Schilcher nach Bedarf (1/16 Liter etwa; statt Schilcher kann es auch Weißwein oder Apfelmost sein). Der Teig sollte so fest wie ein Nudelteig sein. Diesen eine halbe Stunde rasten lassen und sehr dünn ausrollen. Rechtecke ausradeln, diese in der Mitte einschneiden und den Teig ineinander ziehen. Die Teigblätter werden schließlich in heißem Öl oder Fett herausgebacken. Mit Staubzucker bestauben und zu kaltem Schilcher servieren. Those are with Wine though.
