My 1000th post " Too Good " Undoubtedly the most skilled player in all of the JA, The closest thing to a master I've ever had in this community, HILARIOUS in roleplay and Serious beatdowns by means of SHEER FORCE . I did play some swtor but i didn't really enjoy it much. Maybe i'll play some more after the free to play thingy goes live. Yeah, I thought I'd have to stop playing games with the pressure of work and added classes. But on my end it didn't pan out that way, perhaps next semester. I've yet to check out swtor, but most of what i've heard from friends is that its pretty mediocre. Yea, in terms of comparing it to JKA, the combat isn't as fluid. PvP is geared towards strategy. The PvP system eliminates one shot kills, making elimination of opponents more prolonged. One player can take on a few people for a few seconds before being brought down... whereas, in other MMOs, you'd be insta killed.
In terms of CC'ing, have you heard of Resolve? It's SWTOR's way of discouraging constant CC'ing of players. Your resolve builds up each time your CC'd until you max it out. Then, for a limited period of time, you'll be immune to CCs. Your resolve will naturally decay over time, so this immunity will not be permanent. In terms of reaction-based abilities, there are casts and interrupts. I'm not really sure how WoW adds finesse to its PvP system. I'd like to hear more details about that. Open World PvP in general still has not had many details revealed, but what we do know points to smaller groups of players still having a big impact on the flow of battle against larger groups. Basically, there are control points on the planet, and a faction must control all of them to advance to the enemy base. If a surgical strike by a small enemy group takes one of these control points, then the larger group of players must re-allocate their forces to retake that spot... perhaps leaving another control point open. It appears to me that you haven't played SWTOR yet. I would highly encourage you to sign up on the website and play during a beta weekend. Are you speaking from experience with SWTOR PVP or what others say? It seems that Open World PVP on Ilum is where the fun will be. Taking control points and pressing onwards to the enemy base.
