I may not be the best dueler but I always am striveing to be a beter player, a better person, and a better friend. Vote for me for JASE if you think I am deserveing of this great honor. If you dont, I am asking, no, pleading with you, don't vote for me, I only want to be recognized if you, my friends and colleges think I am really dererveing. but why can't everyone be in JASE ? say some guy applies but he doesn't get all the votes. He's gonna feel terrible, like he isn't worthy, and that people are better than him. Yes its very noble and kind of you to support the academy, but your help was not asked for, you did that of your own free will (thanx very much by the way ) I totally agree that loads of people here should be recognised for what they do, but I don't reckon JASE is the right way to go about it. See Jake, that may be your opinion, but many of us dont agree, wit the JASE, Your not voted in by just the council and trainers, ur voted in by the students, there are no ranks here, were all equal, so in a sense were living up to the way u wanted it. JASE may not be recognized by some ppl as part of the JA, but Everything the JASE does is in SUPPORT of the JA.....how can you ppl not see that? and dont forgot we assisted the JA out when the servers were down and donated ours,WHAT CLAN WOULD DO THAT? CONGRATS for New Members is recognition for that JAS, which is why we even started.. And We feel that recognizing JAS and making them feel welcome and important, is important for the overall morale of the JA. We are made of JA students so therefore are a part of the JA, maybe not offically, but you'll see us all on the JA server, no one is from outside the JA. Were also part of things including the Holocron (Ruuk U RULE!), the SP Mod which almost all of us are on(VIRTY U DA MAN) Now i understand the JK13 post didnt belong here, but thats all that needed 2 be said. Lots of you disagree with JASE Still and that is okay, we expected that in the begining but now it doesnt really bother us, the people complaining are far fewer than our 75 registered participants and the 18 and growing members that seem to be happy and active in the JASE, and that makes the complaints seem not worth bothering with anymore... In closing we all LOVE AND SUPPORT THE JA!!! dont make this discussion and agruement. AHHH PEACE!!! _______________ Come on now, every Generation X boy wanted to be Luke Skywalker. Is it because he was a whiney farm boy from some backwater hack planet? No, it's because he was a FREAKING JEDI. He could block lasers with his lightsaber. He could levitate droids & rocks & crap with his mind. Come on, he choked two pig dudes with just a simple gesture. He cut off Darth Vader's hand and kicked him down a flight of stairs. Briefly (not to start the argument again ) the JASE isn't officially covered by the academy, and some people feel that even by its existence it is placing students above other students, almost like a ranking system. I've seen people on the servers with their JASE tags. Thats fine, I see it as the same as a clan tag which anyone can wear as an academy member. But....people hold it as a form of rank. People saying congrats on being accepted in and such. If someone just got made a Knight in their private clan, would everyone in the JA say congrats ? NO they wouldn't, so why say it for this JASE thing ? I'm gonna have a go at ranks in general now, so if you don't wanna hear it, stop reading If I had it my way (god forbid...) I'd have no ranks. We're all here to learn, thats the academy's purpose (its original purpose anyway). Yes its evolved beyond that and become a self contained playing community, which is great. Because we're expanded, we get students in who play just as well as the best in the academy, and teach just as well also, yet they don't receive recognition. Theres WAAAAY too much emphasis placed on how important the ranks are, and how good the ranked people are compared to everyone else. If someone plays with a ranked person, they expect them to be the best. Obviously, to perform the main tasks of a ranked member, my view is that you need to know pretty much everything there is about JKII. You're trying to teach right ? You need to be able to teach what anyone wants to learn, and with knowledge, ability evolves. Basically, to sum up, don't look at us ranked people like "oooooh they're Knights or Trainers, they rock, I wish I was one of them". We're normal people, just like you, just normal carbon based lifeforms same as everyone else. The only thing that makes us different is our willingness to help, and our ability and knowledge to do so. Yes yes I know theres loads of people here who are not only great players, teachers, and downright nice people who qualify for EVERYTHING that a ranked member is described as, they get passed up and overlooked. Well, thats a shame, but its the way of the world. Part of being a ranked member, is caring. Another main part is not caring. I didn't ask to be a Knight, I was happy to soldier on, doing my thing. I'd help people if I could, I'd play the game the way I wanted to play. My ideals just happened to fit in the academy's and thus they thought I could help out on a larger scale. Thats great, but I'm still doing EXACTLY the same thing as when I joined, I havn't changed, only peoples opinions of me have. Some think that beacuse I've become a Knight, I've somehow become a great player, a nicer person, a role model. Not to blow my own trumpet again, but I was all those things before. People place too much hype around the ranks. Yes its nice to be known, yes its nice but also very annoying having people sucking up to you alot of the time. But with power comes responsibility. Since I've become a Knight I can't do half the things I would of before. I can't go on publics and get in an argument, disobey server rules and hope no ones watching. I represent the academy, and thus am an ambassador, the same as anyone who wears an academy tag, no matter what the letters on the end of it are.
