Welcome to The Jedi Academy Map Project! Recently, a thread was created on the JAK forums asking for our suggestions for a new map. Monty came up with the idea to give the map a University feel, and I ran with it! I've laid out a full site to reflect my ideas in the hopes they would be produced, and now theres a team working to do just that! Mapping Team: FaDed, Virtue Contact a member of the team if you think you can be of some assistance.  Please, give any suggestions you have on this thread! Yes yes. Beta 2 of the JA Map is well on the way. With vast improvements to what you already know is there, and new additions aswell. Things are looking awesome! I have a lot of ideas, but I don't think I'll bombard you with them... Good luck with that temple room, it's one heck of a job. I'm really concerned though with the garden area, perhaps unnecessarily, you'll want to make sure everything there is complete. Just to clarify on the Lake/Garden, that is only the planned layout of the area... It is excessively difficult to draw "natural" looking things in paint, so it came out looking rectangular. FaDed has assured me that the lake will be designed to look natural, and the area will have much more detailed landscaping, I'm sure. On a sadder note, I haven't heard from Sared lately, who has forfeited the map project by not turning in a beta map. If at some point he wishes to continue work on the map, he may contact me and arrange a beta test with the council. This leaves only one team currently working on the project, but their offering looks no less promising. Also, I wanted to drop a line saying I've hand-drawn the designs for the gun target range and the fortress/ffa courtyard. I'll be finished with the courtyards once I have those two completed in paint, so I guess I'll have to start working on room designs. (Though theres not much left to that.) The temple area is still a mystery to me, but I think FaDed has something in mind for it. As for the central courtyard, NO it was NOT ever intended for guns and the like, it only has guns as a temporary solution until a courtyard for guns can be created. The BETA should be ready by tonight. It'll be playable, but VERY basic. Don't expect to see half of what will be in the final release, but at least you'll be able to Duel and FFA just fine. The beta will just include the Courtyard and some Sparring rooms, it'll still be fairly large, but all the cool stuff will be in furthar Beta releases. - Virtue. _______________ Academy Architect |
