Hux and I have been going over the game servers. We've already shut down JK2 classes since it was using too much RAM (~100M). Hux's server runs much more than our game servers, and I don't want the rest of his work to suffer because of our games. Each game server uses between 70 and 100M of RAM. The system is using it's swap file, which is making things go nutty slow (and can affect ping times). We have 2 options: either not run as many servers, or slim down our current servers. I'd like to remove a majority of the custom skins we're using. Like all of them. I know that'll piss a few of you off, but I think it may be necessary to preserve system integrity. Before I do this I'd like your opinions on the matter. Well what say you? _______________ My car is made of Nerf. |

On a side note to this, I would like people to please stop coming up to me and asking me to upload stuff to the Servers for you. I don't care if they are Lightsaber Hilts, Models, Skins or Maps. I've got too much on my plate right now to be worrying about petty stuff like a Students wanting a "Dragonball Z" or whatever the hell it is skin on the Servers. throwing away all the customs is okay for me, but maybe it would be nice to have a few more heads/bodies/legs in the in-game custom thingy. With this a lot of combinations are possible without putting that much skins on the server. _______________ -Nero Quote: Curious, Smartass, what else? |

We don't need custom skins. The default skins are good enough. I wouldn't even dream of using anything other than a Reelo skin. Why? Because he's a FAT, SEXY, PIMP. A good start would be to choose one Fett skin and dump the rest. We do not need multiple versions of Boba Fett, Jango Fett, Phil Fett, Billy Bob Fett and all the rest of the Fett clan whose skins all look pretty much alike because they all wear the same armour. _______________ My signature is only one line. I like the skin packs, so I'd be sad to see them go. I don't want to see a server of identical Skins. ahahaha!!! i don't even have the skin pack either. like aiden i see most ppl as kyles. I only have some additional saber hilts so i don't see short reborn sabers instead and get hit all over teh place. |

yeah or at least remove the different skins of the same person we have like 5 skins of Kit Fisto. I think it'd be a good idea to remove the skins - even with the defaults, we're still spoilt for choice. |
