I, like Avalon, am guilty of trying to be accurate and percise with my saber through the use of extensions. By what Avalon just explained I am in violation of the rules of this tourney and must withdraw. I have used extensions in past matches and they are an integral part of my style. Asking me to not attempt to be accurate with my saber is basically asking me to not even fight. It's a shame all this controversy is happening with the tourney, but the JAC are shelling out the $ for it and therefor have the right to apply rules so they can get the outcome they desire. I wish the remaining competitors the best of luck. |

People fight the way they choose to. If someone does not like a certain persons fighting style, simply avoid dueling that person. About my match with Avalon. In my opinion it was quite a fair match and no 'exploit' used. If however, what he used, are indeed considered to be exploits, then I was exploiting as well because I was doing just about the same things he did. However this can be an ongoing discussion about something that actually really is not such a big of a deal. I've had enough of those discussion in my past (people that been here for a while know what I am talking about). _______________ ~ Honor is a fool's prize. Alright guys, I need to clear up some things, since there have been a lot of rumors about me lately. As most of u probably read, the Euro final of this years TIT was between me and Masta. We had to replay the match tonight, and this time Masta won. First of all, wel done Masta, you did very well. So all of u reading this, go congratz him on his Euro championship title. I knew some guys had complained about me wiggling. Altho Im sure the staff didnt take this very seriously (after all, there were demo's of my matches available to prove I didnt poke/wiggle), the tone was set. After I won the final match vs Masta, there apparently has been someone complaining about exploits again. So I was told by a staffmember that the exploiting I was accused of was the use of extensions. Most people here probably dont know what extensions are, so Ill try and explain what they are. When u perform a right red swing, and slowly turn your crosshair to the opposite direction, u can try to keep the saber pointed at your opponent longer. If timed and performed right, it can give u a boost in offensive and defensive power. This is a technique that requires timing and skill, and its not very easy to put it to good use, since its easy to lose track of your opponent because of you having to move the crosshair. This clearly isnt poking or wiggling the saber. The difference between all these has been clearly explained in many threads, do a forum search for 'exploits' and get informed if u dont know what im talking about. Ive always known that this technique was a controversial one, but quite a lot of people at the JA use it, me being one of them. Some people dont see them as exploits, others do, but thats cool and all. Some claim that its some programming/techincal thing, but Im not into that stuff, so I wouldnt know. So I asked the staff how they felt about them, and they came up with a pretty confusing statement. They basicly said that the extension itself is not an exploit, as long as its used in a 'clean' way. Clean meaning that u dont use them to kill people in 1 hit. There were some other criteria, but the fact that there is a 'clean' and a 'dirty' version of the extension is just confusing to me. Then they decided that all extensions, be it the 'good' or the 'bad' ones, are allowed on the server, but werent allowed in the tournament, and my victory was decleared invalid. This even tho Masta told the staff it was an honest victory (which I appreciate, thanks dude). I dont really know why all of a sudden, extensions became such big of an issue, people have been using them forever on the JA. Ive pretty much always used them, way before the tourney aswell, and pretty much never heard anyone about them. But so be it. But if extensions is seen as an exploit, Id say that (glide) delays, backflip hesitation, saber animation freeze moves, saber-cartwheeling and rapid stance switching while attacking (when using staff/duals) should be bant from the tounrey aswell. Its all a matter of debate if one would see al these moves as exploits or not, maybe technically they are, but unlike poking/swaying, they dont give the user an easy advantage. They all require skill and timing to use. Ive rarely received comments on my dueling style, and some of the guys that shout 'Sploitz!' the loudest, ive dueled a lot, and they have never told me they considered my way of fighting exloiting. So please dont be hypocrite about this. Im still pretty disappointed about all this, and altho I know the staff makes the rules here, I think its nonsense. I personally think its sad to be so damn uptight about something silly as an extensions, but thats not my decision I guess. I think that pretty much summed up my thoughts on this, and hope to put an end to some of the rumors. The rematch actually made me realise how hard it is to not use a habit in your style, forcing yourself to play different then u are used to. All in all, Masta played very well, congrats for winning the title, and thank for being so cool during this whole situation. Thanks for reading this guys.
